This is where I'll be Friday, Saturday & Sunday.
Rolling Thunder 2005 Vets Reunion @ Ft. Washington H-D
I've been doing this every Memorial day Weekend since '92.
Wifey knows she won't see me much this weekend.

We're expecting good weather which in the past equates to 8-10,000 folks, both Veterans and supporters stopping in to rest, and reunite with their buddys.

Great way to spend a weekend.

We have a similar ride here next weekend.

Harley Davidson and the Muscular Dystrophy Association Wendover Ride for Life.

Since gambling is outlawed here in Utah, Wendover Nevada is the closest mecca,
a short 2 hour drive to the west.

http://www.mdaride.com/gen_info.htm

They are expecting over 6,000 bikes this year.

Thinking about tagging along with my non HD scooter.

It'll be a nice break from 13 days straight at work, including 7 graveyards (which is where I am as I type this)

UP-N-Attem.

Heading out in a few.

Kinda quiet 'round here this early in the AM on a weekend.

See youse guys & gals about 1800 hrs.

Phox,
We'll probably see 10-15,000 at our location for the reunion Saturday, and 8-10,000 lining up for a Police ecsorted ride to the Pentagon staging area on Sunday morning.
On Sunday at noon whe they roll out of the Pentagon parking lot for the parade, it's usually in the 3-400,000 bike range.
I watched from the lot exit several years ago.
It took 2 1/2 hours to clear the lot with bikes going by @ ~ 5 MPH 4 across.

Packing up and getting ready to head out to the airport. I hear another train load of stuff coming on post, so I'm gonna get out of here before I get the call
Looks like I've got everything squared away here. Got another 100 or so troops coming in the 31st so that will help with the inventory of the milvans. There's 167 each 20 footers on the ground now and another 20 or so due in. Sure wish I had all the plywood and 2 x 4's they've pulled out of them. I bet there's 500+ sheets of 3/4" and 1500+ 2 x 4's stacked up out in the lot.
Holler at y'all later.

SR, I'll help ya police up that wood!!! Wifey just gave me her "wishes" for a few new outbuildings/barns.

Good to hear things are progressing. A good fiend of mine is due in on the 29/30.
Several more on the list to go back soon.

Thanks for caring so much.

Whew ... somebody turn off the durned heat !!! Gotta be in the 90's again today. I wouldn't normally complain about warm weather except that I have to ride the buses and trains and none of them thought that an A/C was a worthwhile investment.

SH and Phox, enjoy your weekend festivities and be careful. Shortround, you can feel free to drop some of that plywood and 2x4's off with my wife ... I'll let her know you are on your way and she'll have a few cold un's waitin on ya.

Oops ... It's 1854 ... I'm almost late for my 1856 beer .

Sorry about all that hot weather down there - - I finally saw 51 on the truck for about 2 minutes, then back in the 40's all day - - wow, this sure ain't Florida up here in Alaska. Gorgeous scenery - - King Salmon are just starting to drift into Anchorage, so here we go - - fun.

Take care.
