No trash cans or flashbangs... its quite.....tooo quite............
been a busy night, got two units here doing their SRP's for deployment, so alot of movement that we normally dont have to deal with. Two more buses coming in today.
Well, I better at least act like I'm doing something, So y'all have a good one...

Wednesday morning (feels like just another Monday)
Got another of "those" calls @ 2200hrs last evening.
Back to the salt mines, then back in the rack @ 0230 this AM.
Geeeeze, I don't remember having this many problems functioning with 5 hrs of sleep in a 48 hr period when I was younger.
But then, I don't remember what I ate for breakfast this morning either.......
Ain't CRS a wonderful thing?
Coffee's ready, time for my caffeine IV.

Chris just beat me to the cans this morning (the trash cans).
GET UP.
Talked to shortround for a while last night, gonna try to meet him for dinner tonight or tomorrow night, along with Crobtex. Not sayin' they're old, but it will be like going out with my grandpa's. Probably have to cut up their steak into little bitty bites for 'em.

IT IS HUMP DAY!!!!!!!!!!
One more glorious week half over. I am not trying to wish my life away but I have been in this same job for over 32 years and retirement is not to far away. 40 months to go. Guess I am sounding like a short timer. A little to early for a short timer's chain.

I forgot how good an air conditioned office feels.
Temps now down to 84 degrees for the first time in 4 weeks.
AC crew just left.
That and my replacement work cellphone came in this morning.
It's like Christmas in August.

Well, decided I was over-due for the river last night, and I wanted to try out the new fly line I picked up for the big rod. I went down the road to the Pine at Raymond road and ended up fishing my way down stream. I had wanted to go up but it was too thick for the 9 1/2 ft rod. The water was still slightly high and a bit stained from the rain the other day and I was dying to fish some streamers. Worked all the way to the public access/canoe launch down stream without seeing a single fish. There were a few tiny blue-wing olive mayflies comeing off now and then, but nothing was rising. I didn't have a floating line with me anyway. The white miller's came out just before dark, but so did a sharp stick under water. Stumbled right up against a stump, felt some pressure and a slow trickle of water. I had intended on fishing for a bit after dark below the canoe access. That's when I see the big ones. But now I was too mad and getting wet. I was planning on some new waders this fall, but not just yet. I guess I'll get them patched for now.

Wrecked the scooter yesterday.
Well, not really a "wreck", more like a scuffle with the asphalt and the asphalt won the first round.
I'll start another thread about it.
If I can walk over there to start one.

A very beeeeeeautiful Thursday in the Nation's Capitol.
Ride in on the G-G uneventful, leather jacket felt good against the slight chill.
Outside temps in the mid 60's, 'sposed to be a sunny day with highs in the mid 80's.
Office temps @ 70.9*f.
Looks like it's gonna be a good day.
Coffee's ready, Top is late with the donuts again.
Y'all B safe,
