Just got home from a weekend of tubing down the Guadalupe River. Talk about fun. Rope swinging and dam sliding. I wish the river had been up another 6" or so. I found one to many rocks with my butt. :'(

Did a little of that rock sliding in the younger years on the Tule River near Round Rock, CA. I know about the problem of impacting the posterior on a nice hard rock near the bottom of the shute. Stuns you for a moment.
If you need six more inches of water, come down our way. We would gladly give you some. Portions of Sarasota under water that I have not seen in 30 years living here. Wow it came down. Three inches in 80 minutes. Drains just could not keep up with it. Luckily we are high and dry (inside).
Another week all ready. Well, let's get after it - - have a good one.

Good Morning DTR, going to be a long week. Just got back into town from Tenn. Had to run down and see the folks. Left on Fri. night and came back on Sun night. Makes for a short weekend. Seen lots of 5er's and big boats on 75, they all seemed to be headed south ;D

Vacation day 1
Forgot to turn work pager off, discovered this when pager went off at 0630 this AM.
Pager now disemboweled, no more beep-beep, work cellphone now turned off too.
It's nice to sit here and watch the news of traffic backups while leisurely sipping coffee. Man,... I could get used to this. ;D
Drizzle and warm humid weather today (of course, that's normal vacation weather :)
Have a great DTR day. 8)

A large group of Army soldiers are moving down a road when they hear a voice call from behind a sand dune: "One Marine is better than ten Army soldiers!"
The Army commander quickly sends 10 of his best soldiers over the dune, whereupon a gun battle breaks out and continues for a few minutes, then silence.
The voice then calls out: "One Marine is better than one hundred Army soldiers!"
Furious, the Army commander sends his next best 100 troops over the dune and instantly a huge firefight commences. After 10 minutes of battle, again silence.
The voice calls out again: "One Marine is better than one thousand Army soldiers!"
The enraged Army Commander musters one thousand fighters and sends them across the dune. Cannons, rockets, and machine guns ring out as a huge battle is fought. Then silence.
Eventually one wounded soldier crawls back over the dune and with his dying words tells his commander: "Don't send any more men, it's a trap. There are two of them!"

Hey, I managed to stumble through them by sounding out the big words, I'm sure a few others did too. :P

Good Morning, everyone. Don, thanks for the headsup on ATMs in New York. Decided to leave ATM card in luggage at my son's apartment! Went to NYC yesterday. Went to Statue of Liberty, walked around Manhattan, went to Ground Zero. That was a moving experience. Everything around the site has messages of support, prayers, love written all over them. The site itself is incredible. The only thing that moved me that much was when I visited Gettysburg. My dually definately would not be happy here! I haven't seen a dually since I left Pennsylvania. I MISS MY TRUCK! :-[
