Pistol,
It was just on of those things related to falling into a sanitary tank and coming out smelling like roses.
I was at SuBase New London in early '70 when I "befriended" a couple of the Canuks that had had consumed a wee bit too much in the way of refreshing adult beverages. The boat had been doing joint ops with some of our boats and had been in and out of the Sub Base for several weeks and I had the pleasure of working with some of their FT's on some system problems. One day I was called into the skippers office and was asked if I would like to participate in an exchange program for 90 days. It was a great tour. Halifax and the people there were fantastic. Still keep in touch with a number of me mates.
Those guys had a lot of pride in their boat. They were a very tight crew and I would be happy to sail with them anytime anywhere.
Looks like our weather is going to turn into a soup sandwich today. Mid 60's right now and mid 30's expected before dark with freezing stuff
Shortround out

Cousins in Confedreacy and Union
They never met, according to our family historian. The Texans stayed mostly on the Texas/Indian Nations border area, and the Union guy came over from Spain and served on a ship hammering the Eastern Seabord, and doing landing raids.
The Texas Branch of the family (my group) still thinks the Republic of Texas should be independant.
