Under the Radar Break Room 5/31 - 6/6
#31
There is no G. There is no G. Repeat after me, THERE IS NO G!
Under the radar for sure. Peeled out of here soon as I got off work. <in a snoody voice> Hit the vacation house on the coast. Had to get away. I'm all sunburnt now, I love it. Didn't get the new fishing pole in the water yet but it went along. Next trip. Truck got to play in the sand, I got to play in the sand. It was nice. Next day I hit the river hoping to cat fish but it was still really flooded out with access closed off. I walked down and took photos and got bit by mosquitos. Then went and had lunch.
The river is at the tree line.

Yesterday about 11:00, the clay muck garden patch dried out enough so I could get a rototiller through it. 4200 sq ft. Spread 27 wheelbarrows of compost, tearing apart 3 piles to get the finished stuff, tilled it in, marked off a bunch of rows, and hand hoed the dirt into high rows. Got hot, took my shirt off, got burned a bit. Neighbor's 2 boys came over to help for a couple of hours just before sunset. They were all worn out, couldn't get outa bed this morning. DW and I finished it up this morning. Garden's in, thunderstorms rolling in as I write.
Got a keeper for sure. Wedding adversity coming up, she wants to go camping and fishing.
I'm a bit tired, but I can't complain as I'm pushin' 70.

Hey Shorts, Looking good! I'm glad things are working out for you!
The big "surprise" exercise starts tomorrow. Had a long talk with the powers that be to convince them that non-hazard civilian employees may carry weapons, but we ARE NOT wearing MOPP4 while we are doing it! Long term, Boss agrees that there are several issues to deal with, and he is eager to go to bat for me from the uniformed side of things. It's nice when they actually listen. Just had to fuzz up a bit and explain things.
On the way to work this morning, 3 fox kits decided to race me. Cute little buggers. On the way home, had 4 turkey hens in the road below the house. One had white mixed in. When she flew off it looked silver. Right after that, 2 fawns still in spots. I do think Spring has really sprung.

Went to bed with a big watery open blister on my thumb, an artifact from my superhuman gardening yesterday. Woke up with big watery open blister......
How can I get this thing to scab over so I can get back to work?

Rained too much to do anything useful yesterday and the wife had to do her grocery shopping. Sun did come out for a bit along with a whole bunch of carpenter ants that where fighting with each other.

Sherod, awwww. nice reminder when we see life. animals could teach us a lot WHEN we watch and listen.
JM, heh wedding ANNIVERSARY. there fixed it for ya! that is some garden to
hand hoe. my two three by two foot planters are veggie planted. took about an hour, mostly to mix up the organic soil. give me dirt, real dirt any day.
Cougar, going back to the art race I see, careful. like the mobile yard sale you are setting up, lol (kidding).
hubby won't stay home long enough to do firewood, have to set up a perimeter......

Ya, that too.
I lied. It's closer to 5000 sq. ft. Still bleeding.
Good luck. We have this thing about "perimeters".
