two post car lifts.-weight capacities

is a 10,000 lb capacity two post lift sufficient for a dodge quad cab 4x4 ctd and a ford excursion diesel?? or should i be thinking 12,000lbs? thanks.

10 should be good, we have an 8k at work and I only lift my truck up high enough the get some knee high jack stands under it then let it back down.

My neighbor has a 10K lift, lifts his truck no poblem (2000 CTD)

we have a 9k lift and itll pick up my truck (8k) no problem.

I have a 10,000 lb lift It lifts my 96 dually just fine.

I'm doubt that even 12K would be enough for the quad cab AND the Excursion but 10K should be fine for either one by itself (depending on how they are loaded at the time). Just out of curiosity, which one do you plan to stack on top?
