Actually your incorrect:

"ATF has specifically exempted the following rounds:

5.56 SS109 and M855 NATO rounds, with a steel penetrator tip.
.30-06 M2 AP ammo."

This is true. We had some extra time out on patrol a few times and had extra sapi plates both standard and then the new enhanced plates. A 5.56 had nothing for either. A 7.62 out of the 240B could pierce the regular plate some times but not the enhance armor piercing plate only got 1 thru out of many many round at same plate. Oh and I seen more Marines doing dumb things on patrol that cause a few of them to be killed in front of us. Something about them thinking there always right and invincible.

I watched that also. According to them, ( and assuming all rounds hit the tree ) it took 1,350 rounds. That would equal out to be 42 magazine changes with an AK !! that might take a while...

Bigger Axe

You have a good idea, but need a bigger axe. Maybe one like my Armalite 50 cal BMG. It is a real sweetheart to shoot. Would only take 1 maybe 2 incendiary rounds to do the job. Also it may be cheaper and more fun to try hunting deer with a chainsaw.
