Spend a buck or two and hook it to a flush machine!

Wait a second... There's a way to drain all of the ATF out of the tranny by disconnecting the cooler?

That's probably a pretty rudimentary process, isn't it?
And what's a flush machine?

(My parents were bikers, I don't know any of this automatic stuff...)

Most full service shops, trans shops, quick lubes, dealers have a auto trans flush machine that is used with a cleaner. It removes 100% of thwe old fliud and exchanges it for 100% new.Been out for years now.Like a blood transfusion.best thing since buttered bread.Prices usually range from $119.95 to $159.95.Its a no fuss no muss kinda thing.

Thanks, didn't even hear of one of those. Sounds pretty expensive though.

And for an elaboration on my original question: it's possible to drain tranny fluid through the cooler? I thought the only way was to take the pan off and remove the gallon there, replace it, and repeat the process every 3,000 miles?

By the time you do to that several times you could get it flushed and be done. You can remove a line and suck some in through one and out into a pan with the other.Nasty/messy amjd a real pain.FLUSH MACHINE.Price a reman or try to find a used working Hyduni what ever auto trans,I did a while back for a gal that worked for me.Used next to impossable, reman was over $1300 in the box.NOW THATS EXSPENSIVE!

The fluid is sp-III hyundai only . I drained 5qts out drove 500 miles and did it again. the fluid looks brand new and it wasnt bad because of the drain plug in the pan
