My only injury

I was wearing my belt and was able to exit the vehicle under my own power.

I was towing a tandem axle 18 foot trailer in the Class IV hitch. I had a Kubota tractor on it. Was traveling up a very small grade in a straight section of road going 30 to 35 miles per hour. No other vehicles around us. Bright clear day, approximately 1430 hours.

Done this very same haul before.

An Indiana State Trooper was behind us and saw the whole deal. After the scene was secure and EMS had arrived, the trooper was just as clueless as I remain. "What happened, you guys were doing everything right as far as I could tell?"

The tractor was loaded forward of the axles enough for proper tongue weight. What I do rememeber is the trailer starting to bounce and then saw it whip to the side. Then the rolling and subsequent excitement started.

I "think" that the trailer brakes malfunctioned and locked up. This was not my trailer. The trailer is toast. The Kubota needs a new muffler....

The truck has been totalled. Time to look for another CTD and get the salvage operation lined out. I get to keep all the nonstock goodies. Not sure yet if I will keep the truck and part it out or what.

I remain in a very grateful state to still be around to discuss the events. God was there and he took care of us.

Thanks for all the replies. It's interesting to me as well as my wife what kind of crowd hangs out here. You people are A okay in our book!

Sorry to hear about that.
Glad you and your friend came out alive.

Think you could post some pics of the tractor and trailer?
