topping off your fuel tank

i have a 2003 SB and have to fuel up very slowly at the end. I was looking at the tank and the vent tube is attached in the front and lower the the highest point in the tank. I did notice that in the highest point in the tank there is a fiting with a hose barb on it. I would imagine this is sealed anyone know what it is for. Do you know if they use this tank on different application. If i could get a funtional fiting i could plumb it into the vent tube and will have a vent higher in the tank which may make topping off easier.

Re:topping off your fuel tank

My wife hates to go fill up with me. I fill it up til it won't hold any more....right up to the top of the neck....where even the vent hole is covered. ;D Takes me close to 15-20 minutes I'd imagine to fill it up. ;D

Re:topping off your fuel tank

When I still had the OEM fuel tank, mine would take a few extra minutes at the end. With the TransferFlow 60 gallon OEM replacement tank, it takes a little longer, but not too bad.

When I had my 87 Ford F250 with the dual 20 gallon tanks, each tank would take at least 15 - 20 minutes to fill, the last 5 gallons in each tank was eye-dropped required :-

Why do I not find this hard to believe coming from a SF guy that uses the purple gun stuff for mouth wash?
