Time to get a job
Well, I have been out on workers comp since Oct 18th of last year for a head injury. The doc said today that starting next month I should start back to work. Only starting at 2-3 times a week and working up to full time over 2 months. Great news! I am going out of my mind here at home trying to amuse myself.
Now here comes the fun. I am a BMW tech, and there is no way I can get a job part time as a tech for BMW, just aint happening. Most shops in the area are looking for multi-year contracts and full time. So I am doing to job hunt probably at PepBoys or local shop or something like that. Maybe Sears though no way I will get to do anything interesting or even close to my level there. Any ideas from you guys would be great though.
Thankfully I do actually have a line on a BMW job out west so now that the doc says I should be back to full duty by mid summer I can go for that one! Just have to work up to working full time.

What about warranty/tech support for a large company like Cat or John Deere? I don't know, but they might like a part time guy. You'd get a set up truck and, I imagine, they'd send you for their factory certification. That would look good on the resume'. Just a thought.

In my area, technicians are very hard to find, and a dealer might be very happy to have a part time employee with skill, experience and training to fill in while full timers are off on summer vacation. It may be worth talking to some dealers, BMW and other, to see if they need a "temp".
