I just received word that one of our members, screen name Hunter, has been involved in an altercation while vacationing in Mexico. Their hotel room was broken into by two men and a fight occurred. Don was sliced open in the stomach by a broken bottle and stabbed. He is in intensive care in a hospital in Mazalatan. <br><br>I know all will wish to keep him and his wife in your thoughts and prayers.<br><br>Bob

Geez, I hope he's ok... Hunter is a retired State Trooper isn't he?

The message said he was able to inflict some damage before going down. <br><br>Never had any problems in my many trips to Mexico but this world is changing. Maybe the secret is to stick in the good ole USA and up with them crazee Canucks. It is scary how quickly your life can change because of some idiot.<br><br>SadBob

 

I hope he does get better. <br><br><br>In my few months I hung out in El Paso we would go over to Juarez and get into trouble nearly every night. In Juarez you can find trouble without even looking The short time I was there over 10 women were murdered and for the last few years over 300 have been and something like 500 are missing. Its a nasty place, but if you know where to go the food can be the best you ever had.<br><br>Anyone ever heard the story about the couple who brought the cute little chihuahua dog home they found on the side of the road? Took it to the vet in the states to get checked out and vaccinated, It turned out to be a rather large Juarez rat YUK! They kept it the bed with them in the Hotel during their trip too [undecided]<br><br><br>Don~

Latest update on Hunter as of this afternoon:<br>He is in ICU in Mazatlan. Seems to be doing OK. Needed blood. He is not sleeping or waking out of the sleep thrashing and fighting reliving the ordeal. He has talked to a friend in the states who said he is very jumpy. I would be too. <br>Bob

 

I am glad that he's doing better. MAN, That's scary. Tell him that we are all praying (in one form or another) for a speedy recovery.<br>Tom
