Just by posting such a "informative message" will promote discussion and debate, as the post represents your views. Others may differ and say so. For me, what two consenting adults do in private is none of our busisness, yours, or the intolerant rights. Civilization and society will not end if nontraditional marriage is made legal. Homosexuality, for both sexes, is here to stay, it has been around for centuries, and is not going to vanish because of laws or individual hate. I think this world would be a lot better if, even though we may disagree with each other, we still can have respect, instead of dissing, hating, and making rules (laws) against each other.

Destruction of the original 1M+1F marriage will destroy "the family"...

Yea haw boys. Don't be afraid. Them "twinkle toes" won't get you or affect your life in any way. Lets start talking about trucks, and cool stuff about our trucks and not worry about other people's lives. Why this post is here, and why we care if "they" get married, have insurance, or don't, is beyond me. Lets get back to trucks...

For the folks critical of this amendment, rather than trying to cause an argument on DTR, why not just take your opinion to the polls?? That is, assuming you're from Texas (so far none of you have been). For the folks taking this thread for what it is....information....thanks for not arguing with those who are trying to stir things up and get this thread locked.

Just consider this a public service announcement for our Texas members. As I said, I'm not telling anyone HOW to vote. I'm just trying to get the word out that an important election is coming up on November 8th. Vote how you wish, but VOTE.

I don't know a lot of gay couples, but I do know some that have kids from previous marriages, and you can believe whatever you want, but the kids do suffer from it. It is not the "family" that I believe in.

Don't bother posting it, because YES, I am a Redneck, and yes, I believe in the basic principles of Christianity.

We had pretty much the same thing last November (or was it the one prior?).

Unless you happen to be gay, female, African American, of Hispanic ancestorage, etc.

Many of you have spoken of a profound belief in the Creator mentioned above, but want to deny a small percentage of "all men" the same right to happiness that you enjoy?

By all means, all Texans get out and vote, but be informed on what you are voting for or against,
don't vote blindly.

Good quote, but I don't recall the Creator ever say that it was alright to be married to the same sex.

There are a lot of laws I don't like either and I vote to changs them evey chance I get.

It becomes more evident that we created God in our own image when God hates all the same people we do.
One party wants to take our money and spend it anyhow they see fit.
The other party wants to take our money and spend it anyhow they see fit and control every aspect of our personal lives from conception to death.
My mom is from Texas. I didn't think ya'll had that problem out there.

I think Hoss made the single most important point of this thread when he said "Vote how you wish, but VOTE"

This is true in every election, local or National. If you don't vote you are NOT fulfilling your civic duty to yourself and your neighbors. No point in arguing about the issues here, let your voice be heard on election day
