Talk about a crappy day
Today, while my wife was waiting to get a mammogram done (her regular Dr. found something during a routine examine that she said my wife should get looked at) her boss called and told her they had to let 100 people in her department go and she was one of them
He didn't want to tell her by phone, but he also didn't want her hearing about it (via Blackberry) first from someone else.
Wow, she is a strong woman. She was more worried about how I would take the news than she was worried about herself. Told her I could care less about the job, I just want to know what the results of the test are.
Sorry for dumping,
~Rob

Thanks guys. Yep, the Big Man upstairs works in mysterious ways
Just got off the phone with her. The Dr. at the exam said she couldn't feel anything nor did they really see anything, probably just some small cysts. Come back in 6 months, they said, but no cancer That's all I wanted to hear.

Man I am glad to hear that for you. Hate to hear about the job, but you are right about the big guy.... if one door closes then a better one is sure to open in due time. Good luck

Jobs will never run out for those who are not afraid of working.
Good health is the most important thing one can have. Looks like the priorities worked well in this crappy day! So, on to the better things!
I wish her to never have a mammo scare again, and to get a job with twice the pay so that she can laugh about the previous one!

Glad to read your second post, thats GREAT news!!! At least it sounds like her boss was had her feeling in mind, though the loss of works still stinks.

Sure glad to hear that the wife is OK ... that is the important thing. She'll pick up another job in no time. Sounds like quite a lady ... I second the "take her out to dinner" idea !!
