Swirls in paint

Everytime I clean and wax my truck it looks terrible when the sun hits it because of swirls in the paint. I use ICE wax and even tried some Meguiars swirl remover the other day and it didnt help at all. Does anyone have any suggestions? Will a buffer help with this at all. When my truck is in the shade without direct sunlight its looks like a mirror. But when theres direct sunlight I love black but man it shows every little scratch, scuff, or SWIRLS!!!!!!!!! Thanks fellas!

don't buff out your truck unless you or the person doing it are incredible with a wheel unless you want to have some burned, hazed, and dull paint to go with the swirls. some good products to try are 3-m fill-in glaze and 3-m polish. an auto body supply place should carry the full line of 3-m products. i've never used one, but i hear the clay bar works well too.

Yeah I sure did. I used a Mothers and Mothers wax the last time. It just took the better part of the afternoon. I used the bar in a cross hatch pattern. Just seemed to work the best for me.

I also used the claybar on the glass. It sure did clean it up nice.

a couple years ago, for a couple months i worked at a shop where i buffed cars all day long....on all my vehicles (even black) id use 3m polish with a foam pad after the normal.....you could look all day and not find a swirl in even the black....works good, just takes some practice to get the hang of it...but i never used a clay bar or any of that stuff, and mine always came out great.

Before dipping back into your soap bucket rinse out sponge with a spare bucket of water.

Claybar (Greatest car product ever)

Meguires Fine Cut #2 (They use to remove paint transfer from minor car accidents)

NXT wax (Twice)

I have a black truck, you'll always end up with swirls between waxes, but the above got rid of mine for a few washes.

I do the above every 6 months.

as far as waxes go, meguires nxt is some good stuff for hiding swirls. and their spray wax is pretty good for in between wax touch ups.

The best thing about NXT is since it's synthetic you don't get the white stains on your plastic.

www.autopia.org Once you know how to use a rotary it goes fast. If you are serious about it but dont know how to use one get a Porter Cable and give it some time. The best way to reduce getting them is to use the 2 bucket wash method. Megs and Poorboys make some sweet products, oh and Duragloss is pretty sweet too.
