NE, so glad to hear you're on the mend! easy on any salt. applesauce, pudding, tuna, ect. is good to start with. wow, feel for ya pal. faxing you a massuse....

Bark, I hear ya. conversation with DH was like Abbott and Costello on moving someplace warmer....shocked to see most states tax social security.

for some reason, the cat loves it cold out. she is romping in around the living room then out her own door. sounds like a horse, running around. you kind of cringe when she runs at ya.....then darts off for a hidden treat or favorite toy.

met with second son and friend for dinner half way (45 miles each) got title and seat for bike, 4AM will be early I am sure.....

here's my credit card, get your own breakfast DTR.....

Wish I didn't feel so beat up. Hopefully once I heal up some I will feel better than I did. I sure don't right now.
Don't think I will be working for a couple weeks. Doc said 4 weeks 20 lb lift limit. Picked up a bag of canned vegetables when I got home, big mistake, and it wasn't near 20 pounds.
Dog wants to play musical doors. Not gonna happen anytime soon.
Picked up a couple DVDs out of the $5 bin at wally's-mart the other day. 2 disks, one case, 4 James Stewart flicks. Getting my money's worth out of it. Far Land, Night Passage, The Rare Breed, and can't remember the fourth.
Maureen O'Hare sure was a good lookin woman. Had some pretty good roles too. The Mills girl in this one is pretty good too.
And it's hard to not like Ben Jonson, even if he only plays someone on crutches and doesn't do much in the show.

Hey DTR'onians,
I think I need an assist from Shorts or Stan. DW augmented supper with tamalajes and ajoles. How do pronounce that last food stuff? From what I know the J is pronounced like an H so I am very afraid. I am sure she is feeding me A-holes. That isn't nice at all

JWBM- I asked about chicken noodle soup. It went down pretty good. Have a bunch of yogurt and some applesauce and a little pudding.

Got ya. I guess it's the 6' woodpecker costume then. I know how bad you are at dealing with them.

Same here when mine went south. Rest!

If you didn't like this surgery I strongly advise you to follow the doc's advice because you will certainly won't like the next one. After any surgical procedure, including Laparoscopic to the abdomen, you can easily develop a hernia. Follow the doc's advice, don't lift or you may get to experience your intestine on the exterior of you body.

I don't even know what a ajoles is. Thought it was some sort of animal. What are they like?

Figure if people supposedly shoot at bigfoots all the time without a license a 6' tall woodpecker wouldn't stand a chance.

Didn't we just have this discussion last week?
Or maybe we were talking about not remembering things as well.

Sure... Offer the use of your credit card and the road is blocked by trees so I cant go anywhere. Too lazy to move them myself in this wind.

Can't believe our power is still on. Wind is starting to let up, the satellite still has signal and there is left over clam chowder. Life is good.

Maybe a subliminal message of how she sees you? Just a thought. They say you are what you eat, maybe it works backwards too; 'you are what I feed you'.

You trying to take over the 'thought for the day' with the 'disturbing mental image for the day'?

Internal organs outside the body are always cool!

It's worse this year. Colder, snowier, longer than any year I can remember. I can't remember a year where we DIDN'T have a January thaw until this year.

Me too. I've had a sore left arm and shoulder since Christmas, fingers on right hand don't wanna work half the time and last week my back hurt so bad I couldn't move. It's either the weather or I'm having a stroke!

I'll be happy if I MAKE it to 60!

It's the weather. When in doubt, it's always the weather.

Hey NE frmhnd, please tell me you have someone stopping by once in a while to see if you need anything.

Happy Saturday!

It is the 8th of February.

1861 - The Confederate States of America was formed.

1861 - A Cheyenne delegation and some Arapaho leaders accepted a new settlement (Treaty of Fort Wise) with the U.S. Federal government. The deal ceded most of their land but secured a 600-square mile reservation and annuity payments.

1910 - William D. Boyce incorporated the Boy Scouts of America.

1952 - Queen Elizabeth II ascended to the British throne. Her father, George VI, had died on February 6.

1963 - The Kennedy administration prohibited travel to Cuba and made financial and commercial transactions with Cuba illegal for U.S. citizens.

1971 - The Nasdaq stock-market index debuted.

1973 - U.S. Senate leaders named seven members of a select committee to investigate the Watergate scandal.

1974 - The three-man crew of the Skylab space station returned to Earth after 84 days.

1980 - U.S. President Jimmy Carter announced a plan to re-introduce draft registration.

1985 - "The Dukes of Hazzard" ended its 6-1/2 year run on CBS television.

1993 - General Motors sued NBC, alleging that "Dateline NBC" had rigged two car-truck crashes to show that some GM pickups were prone to fires after certain types of crashes. The suit was settled the following day by NBC.

Today's thought:
The rights of every man are diminished when the rights of one man are threatened.

Off to the woods to kill a tree.

C0ffee & ph00 are ready.

TOB&F~!

Good morning all. What a beautiful morning....... where I live. I see that many of you are still under the weather, some in more ways than one.

N frmhand, what you have just been thru is pretty rough. Do exactly what your doc told you to do and do not try to be a macho guy, or else I can guarantee that you will pay for it. To get well and stay well, do lots of research on EVERYTHING you put in your mouth. "Your body is a product of what you eat" is well proven.

Sean, please keep me out of your domestic squabbles. Yes, in Spanish the J is pronounced as a H, so in other words if you drive a Jeep, it becomes a Heep.

My wife hosted a hen party last night here at home, so I was banished to my den. That is until some woman brought a couple of unwelcome kids and one of them pushed the patio screen door off the tracks and then she came and asked the calvary for help to fix it. Now the house is full of mosquitos.

That reminds me. Next month I need to start taking anti-malarial tablets for a short while because we will be in a known malaria area for about 1.5 weeks. Need to keep taking them for 7 days after we leave the area. Hate putting chemicals into my body, but sometimes it is necessary.

Off to make myself a nice hot mug of fresh squeezed lime and honey. Then go and sit in the swing on my verandah while I contemplate the day and slowly think about what I will accomplish for the day.

Scotfarmer, glad you got fixed. Did you check and make sure all the doc removed was gall parts?

Glad you are hungry. After that description I am not. Its great that you feel as good as you do. DONT OVER DO IT. Take it easy for a few days.

Like Tallguy, its too windy for the hot tub. Oh, forgot, we don't have one anymore.
Oh well, gonna stay inside and dream of bacon.

Edit: Just looked through my yahoo spam filter messages. There is a lot of neat stuff in there.
My favorite is "Become a sex magnet in your neighborhood".
They apparently have no idea of who my neighbors are and why becoming a sex magnet might prove to be a very bad idea.
Think Ma and Pa Kettle with shotguns.

I tried the shrew goo. Looks like I have a new problem now. Might order a NoNo.

Thats the movie mom. Was Ben kingsley in it too?
With a few of us on that island, many things would change.

Yeah, I got people to help me out. Might get kinda hungry in a couple weeks though.
Took a dulcola and an oxycodone before bed last night. Am feeling a touch better today. Kinda tough getting rolled in and out of bed without using stomach muscles.
Not sure if I want to try cereal or some hard-boiled egg whites for solid food. I do have the pudding yet....

Good morning all y'all. It turns out I was not fed ajoles last night. There was a rapid conversation going on and I didn't keep up. We had gorditas. There is no such thing as an ajole (good thing, cuz that name is just wrong), she was referring to atole - a hot mexican drink with masa, cinnamon and sometimes chocolate.

I really want to get out and get the snow blown off the driveway today but that depends on Mother Nature. It is still brutally cold here but it is supposed to warm up a bit. If the temp goes up like it is supposed to and the sun comes out and the wind stays down, then snow blowing will happen. If Mother Nature remains grumpy then no outside chores for this boy today.

I just watched another episode of United States of Bacon. All I want to do now is go buy a couple of pork bellies and make some big batches of bacon and kielbasa. Cured and smoked pork is all good.

Play safe everyone.
