Ev'nin all - - - rains finally are starting. If you can believe the weather man, we are in for several VERY wet days. First storm of the season. Reminds me to get the rest of my hurricane panel mounting hardware back on the house - - took them all off when I painted it. Glad I got the new planting done today - - they should love all that rain. Lawn sure needs it too.

Shutting this thing down for the night and go spend time with the blonde. Maybe snore a bit on her lap - - oh that is soooo nice - - she is a good head rubber (hmmm, is that a word??? Looks more like a tire to me.)

Gone - - have a good one.

Yeah, it took me a month and a half to get the nerve up to ask this one.

On a brighter note, cows still find me fascinating!

They were chasing me around the pasture while I was spraying thistle. They normally run from the 4-wheelers, not toward them.

OK Heidi, now look what you wished on me. Woke up this morning, turned on TV and what do I see? Suzy Q's - - our favorite little eating hole about 2 miles from our ranch. Got hit by a tornado last night. Man, that is getting way too close. We are under tornado watch for the next "how many" hours as the next bands of "Andrea" (tropical storm) pass thru. Sure glad I got the work done yesterday outside. Here I was saying sure glad I don't live in Oklahomuh - - that will learn me to open my mouth. ...........

Coffee and ph00 are on - - come and get it. .....

They need to think because they wanna grind you into the dirt as hard as they can but can't think fast enough to be able to do it the first time around!

Mornin' all.

Today is Thursday, June 6th.

1968 - U.S. Senator Robert F. Kennedy died at 1:44am in Los Angeles after being shot by Sirhan Sirhan. Kennedy was was shot the evening before while campaigning for the Democratic presidential nomination.

1971 - "The Ed Sullivan Show" aired for the last time. It was canceled after 23 years on the air. Gladys Knight and the Pips were the musical guests on show.

1985 - The U.S. Senate authorized nonmilitary aid to the Contras. The vote authorized $38 million over two years.

2005 - The United States Supreme Court ruled that federal authorities could prosecute sick people who smoke marijuana on doctor's orders. The ruling concluded that state medical marijuana laws did not protect uses from the federal ban on the drug.

Today's thought:
Opportunity is missed by most people because it's dressed in overalls and looks like work.

C0ffee's on.

See ya.

That is a bit close - - don't know yet how badly the building was hurt nor anything like right next doorish. It was 3am when it hit.

Raining up your way too? Well, hang on - - give us two days and we will have some more for you - - ours is heading your way from the predictions. It is raining pretty good out there righ now - - overflow on the pool is running. Sure great for the plants and grass though - - it was desperately needed on the grass after all the trucks and equipment and chemicals that got dumped on it.

Stay dry.

So, where were you all. Just when I need you no one is around. Tornado activity all around me. Not big ones, thankfully. 80mph tops so far, but these things drop down quickly, do their thing and back up. More out near the ranch. Several just to my south, more coming. Been busy running around finding stuff that was there, but ain't no more - - caught the garbage can running down the street after the trucks went thru. Caught two of the neighbors cans, one running down the road on its wheels (crazee looking) and the other after it hit a car. Strong winds and the cells are moving at about 40mph. Wild around here. More fun - - hope it all stays fun.

Worked in lunch inbetween all this and now need some ph00...................

Bob, best you keep low bud. Andrea just made land fall and is kicking butt. Lots of tornadoes spinning up.

Twitch. I'll post some wrecker **** for you when I get the pictures loaded.

Currently trying out the new mobile app for the forum from my Android. So far it works pretty easy.

Rain has stopped, wind is much lower - - maybe drying out. Just one day behind (again) on my schedule of stuff to do before heading out west. Hopefully can get it all done. Not a fun day.

Not ALL of them, no. I see some of the guys here that are married to the most wonderful women to ever grace the presence of the earth, and there's a couple of women here as members that are absolutely the best, but then there's the rest. I swear some women start plotting how they're going to over-throw the man-population from the day they begin walking!

Wanna trade? As of right now, I'm about 3 months behind on 2 projects that should have been done by now. And there's no way I'm ever going to catch up at this point, which means I'll be digging trenches in the frost, amongst other things. Not MY choice, but there ain't much I can do about it.

Evening y'all! Sittin' here all depressed because I've run outta ice cream.

Good evening all y'all. I am just sitting on the deck, looking west watching the sun get ready to set (in about an hour) behind the Rockies and enjoying a glass of shiraz/cab after a most awesome dinner. When I got home today DW told me that she had been slow roasting baby back ribs in the oven all afternoon. My job was to add some roasted spuds, carrots and onions to the mix and to finish the ribs on the bbq. Now that was a good supper. DW looks after me so well!!

Amusingly, it is probably a little cold for all of our Merkin kinfolk to enjoy outside. It is currently 63F but there isn't even the slightest hint of wind and the sun feels awesome on my face right now. Our days aren't as long Cougar has to deal with but at this time of year the sun sets behind the mountains about 9:45pm and it comes up over the prairies about 5:40am. This slice of heaven is why we put up with 7 or 8 months of winter. DW and I did a garden tour today. The peas, beans, turnips (swede), onions and beets are up. Spuds ought to be coming along any day now. There are almost 20 rogue plants where I threw the squash and pumpkins last autumn. I guess I need to stop doing that!!

Did I mention recently that our new dog arrives in about 14 days - we are so excited. Have a good evening all y'all and let's make sure we do it to them before they do it to us (I believe that quote comes from Hill Street Blues - but feel free to correct me).

4 Scoops? That's it? Usually 6 scoops makes for a weak pot!

Morning everyone.

Today is Friday, June 7th.

1712 - The Pennsylvania Assembly banned the importation of slaves.

1775 - The United Colonies changed their name to the United States.

1942 - Japan landed troops on the islands of Attu and Kiska in the Aleutians. The U.S. invaded and recaptured the Alutians one year later.

1944 - Off of the coast of Normandy, France, the Susan B. Anthony sank. All 2,689 people aboard survived.

1948 - The Communists completed their takeover of Czechoslovakia.

1966 - Sony Corporation unveiled its brand new consumer home videotape recorder. The black and white only unit sold for $995.

1965 - In the U.S., the Gemini 4 mission was completed. The mission featured the first spacewalk by an American.

1968 - In Operation Swift Saber, U.S. Marines swept an area 10 miles northwest of Danang in South Vietnam.

Today's thought:
Home is where you can say anything you want to because no one listens to you anyway.

Have a big day!
