When I was 17 granted it was only 4 years ago I was working on my 86' bronco. It had this funky fuel vapor thingy mabob on it. Well the filter to that thing cloged and I couldnt find another one anywere so I decided to bypass it. I got my self some 3/8 inch steel line and atempted to splice it in to the Plastic fuel line. Whats this? " it the plastic fuel line is not big enff to slid the steel line into". For some DUMB reason with out even thinking that I was working with GAS i Decided to pull out my Lighter and HEAT THE PLASTIC LINE UP so it would be soft enuff for the other stuff to slide into. Well I lit the lighter and pulled the fuel line twards me (im laying on my back in the drive way) and I put the lighter up to the line and Gas Came pouring out and went up in flames instantly. So there I was on october day rolling around under my truck. On fire. STOP DROP AND ROLL DOES NOT WORK WHEN YOU HAVE A GAS SOAKED CARHART ON.

I can't say I was soaked with gas but I did have some on me when my tractor blew up infront of me as I was filling the tank. I could not hear for 2 hrs and had to get my head shaved :'( glad there was a cattle waterer nearby

Me too, got shot all over the place including my face. but last year around Xmas I went to go get my wisdom teeth pulled and had to get a panaramic exray taken and low and be hold there was a BB lodged in my jaw. And he tried to tell me that he only pumped the gun once LOL. ******

One of many that comes to mind is trying to find a vacuum leak on a customer's bug using ether. I was out of carb clean and in a hurry so I gave it a big shot on the left side. I found out it wasn't a vacuum leak but a plug wire off. Lost my eyebrows and felt like an idiot when I had to explain what the heck happened to me when they came to pick up their car. New set of plug wires and labor= NO CHARGE!! Jim

Here's my story...

When I was 16 a 5 gallon can of offroad diesel about halfway full was leaking so I decided I needed to put the diesel in containers until I could get another can. So I did and some found it's way into some old fruit punch gatorade bottles : A week or two went by and my mom decided to put two of the bottles in the fridge in the garage. So me and my cousin come home one day after a long day in the sun cutting firewood. We saw that there was some gatorade in the fridge and we both got one and opened it and then took a big drink :P :'( Needless to say everything for about a week tasted like good old #2. Gosh we were dumb > ;D

My grandfather's mother used to make him take a tablespoon of kerosene when he had a cold. :-X He made it to 83, so a swig of #2 diesel can't be that bad.
