Specifics to look at
I'm going to go look for a second time at my first used diesel. It's a 2002 QC, 4X4, H.O., 6-Spd., Long box with trailer tow pkg. Just wondering if there is anything I should look at specifically or any known problems. I've read about the lift pumps and such, anything else. The owner bought it new and was a Chrysler mechanic for 23 years and says he has never had any warranty work or any work done to it all. It has 27000 miles. He's asking $26000, does that seem like a fair price, I ran a NADA and trade-in was $25200. Just getting anxious before I spend a bunch of my hard earned money, want to make sure I'm getting a great deal. Thanks

Welcome aboard eswartz
I've got almost the same truck, except mine is the short box and love it. One issue some of these trucks have is with a "wandering" or "slop" of the steering. There are several fixes for this (if this vehicle exhibits this "feature". Do a search in the "High Performance -After Market Accessories" forum or "2nd Gen - No Drive Train" forum.
Good luck, you won't regret it.

I think you could find a good deal on a brand new one for only a little more money. Also consider new vehicle financing and rebates in your total cost. You may be surprised.
In any event, have the dealer run a check to make that there's been no funny business wrt to engine mods, etc that might affect any warranty issues if they arise down the road.

Thanks for the info fellas, I went and drove it again and turned him down. It just didn't have all the options I want. I know I need to be somewhat flexible because I'm buying used, but that's still a lot of money to not get what you want. I think the "new" route may be the way to go with the rebates, I think that will be a better way to get what I'm looking for. Thanks again for the help.
