somthing odd i came across last weekend!
so my friend while looking on google earth a while ago. found a bunch of old landing strips out in the mojave preserve. these strips were use during training activites during WWII . for the north africa campaign! while scsnning the area for stuff left behind he saw a small white/ shinny object just off one of the runways. so we drove out towards the area. took a nice mile hike. This is what we came across!
this is what we saw from a distance
wow look a tail section
heres a pics of the rest of the plane
in the center of the pic. is the landingstrip. wich he missjudged altitude and hit a joshua tree!
so we did some more research after getting the tail number!
this plane crash was in 1979. nobdoy was killed and only minor scrapes and bruises. (amazing) the plane did catch fire as why there isnot much left of the cabin. while trying to make an emergency lsnding onthe strip he found on a map. running low on fuel on the trip from washington state. he decieded to circle till sunrise and land there!
i have more pics up of our fun last weekend. email me if you would the link.
there are some pics of the mines we found and random fun and us frezing our butts of in the snow!

You guys need to be careful when you go exploring out in the desert and on government land,
A lot of the piles of earth and mounds you think are sand dunes are really Uranium Tailings from the mines from back in the 1950's.
Do a google search on "Radioactive Mine Tailings" and "Uranium Mine Tailings"
And watch what you pick up.

hey now .. im a professional. Wait Did i Really Say that? i have seen alot of stuff. i even have a uranium mine like a 3 mile hike from my house! fun to get a few people inside and then turn on the dosimiter. freak out then run! been doing the mine thing for 10+ years. the craziest thing to date was last weekend finding 2 55gallon drum of soduimcyanide . one with dixie cups in it! we left that cargo contianer with a pad lock on it ..
Had some friends that used to go dirt bike riding in the desert riding through the radioactive dunes.
Was this soduim cyanide from some mining operation or had Jim Jones visited there?
