Thats a heck of a lot faster than the last and only soapbox race I ever went to. They closed the street down in front of my college apartment in Cookeville Tn for a sanctioned soapbox race. Man they were pokin! I sorta knew the distance to the top of the hill and timed them. I think they came across the line at a blistering 8~10 mph. At the lower part I could out run them.

I was sorta disappointed because I imagined the soapbox races from movies like The Little Rascals.

Its good to know that they do get that fast though!!

Ok I just saw what "I" means in sfvisbf. I guess thats why the ones I saw were so slow.

Looks like that would be a kick in the pants !!! I'd love to do something like that. They had quite a track ... funny seeing an old grey-beard racing a soap box !!

I didn't know they could go that fast.
I know I nearly killed my self when I rolled mine at about age 11. Good thing I had my football helmut on.

I agree they are fun to run, I did that as a kid. We still have ours, 100% home made, even the wheels. I am not sure how fast we went but I do know that the first time I rolled one it hurt, but was a blast. You know you are going fast when you pass the car driving in the other lane
