we did crap like that in high school, always got spotted, someone in small town always KNEW you and called your dad
when i was young & stupid like MadHat, we did reverse cookies and J-Strips in FWD cars.
i blew up a Honda Civic doing ~110mph for hours on end thru WV, going back to Subase in Groton. head overheated and something something unhappy trade it in.
we did SCCA for years in Omaha.
few years ago, my son in law was complaining about one of my buddies "did not deserve" to own the white SS M6 camaro he had.
they were out one night at sonic, and my buddy come up, "dressed like a Gomer in old ragged baggy shorts and wore out flip flops."
son in law said he looked like a f*g.
son in law said buddy got it sideways in 3 gears when he left,
said that "&*#$% can DRIVE"
i never thought nothing about it, just laughed it off.
we had bought my daughter a V6 camaro, then a mildly built LT1, prolly pushing ~350 to the wheels.
a neighbor was the rich a$$hole in town, and bought his daughter a brandy new LS1 camaro (they do ~340 to wheel stock)
and his daughter was ALWAYS talking smack to our daughter about her older and in worse condition car.
so one day, son in law and I were running to the store in our SS M6 (I done a few bolt on mods), and we saw the neighbor's daughter, and she street raced EVERYONE because her daddy was BigWig in town.
i flipped the SS around on the shoulder of the road, and we chased her down.
we beat her up from stoplight to stoplight once, then at the next stop light, she turns to get away from us.
i pulled over in the lane behind her, and she was MOVING.
so I kept going, we were at the top of first gear, and the shift light came on, i just jammed second and dumped the clutch in the turn ( like a wide turn lane in an intersection ) and we were doing 55~60 flat out sideways, and we passed her like that,
she pulled tight to the inside, and we swung wide past her sideways and never slowed down.
i never thought nothing of it, just being stupid out on a deserted country road. the ignorant will be punished, but hopefully not today....
but we got home, and my son in law had a FIT, he was like "he was turning, and spinning, and sliding, and we passed them, and i was hanging on for LIFE"
i guess he thought i could not drive either, eh?
then we had to tell him about driving SCCA and all that stuff.

Hmm.... I love going to and driving in Boston... even in my truck as I find it fun.... does that mean i'm legally insane or something?
That video really made me think of all the "angry with the world", early middle aged, AWD Volvo driving soccer moms in my local mall's parking lot during Christmas Shopping Season racing each other for a parking spot.

hahaha, I was about to respond with, ken block is good, but he isnt as good as colin mcrae, then the video kept going, and I decided as far as parking lots are concerned, ken block is pretty good! now, before mcrae died (terrible story) no one could beat him. in the xgames, travis pastrana set a fast time, and colin mcrae ROLLED HIS CAR and still almost beat him....that guy was the KING of rally racing.
sweet vid though, thanks for sharing. here is block setting the record for longest air in rally car

I did a little FIA rally racing in the late 70s in a 230hp Datsun 510 and it was insane back then, I can't even imagine now with the super high hp AWDs.
500+ hp to the fronts and lever brakes on the rear, oh baby!
Hell I ended up on the lid with what I had every race, probably be dead with one of the new machines.
That guy can drive thats for sure

the usual good morning wave to say hello (in Boston)
I do it 5 days a week. Do I qualify for combat pay?
