So what are you doing this holiday weekend?
Hope everyone is enjoying the long weekend. Just curious as to what everyone is doing to celebrate the freedom afforded to us
(and it gives me another opportunity to post more pictures of my daughter).
We had a big cookout yesterday and I bought my daughter a cool little pool for her to splash around in. She didn't really seem to be having a good time in the pictures because the water was still pretty cold.
Hope you guys have a great rest of the weekend!

Got the lawn mowed yesterday, barely before the rains came.
Rained off and on the rest of the night, woke up this morning and looked out the window and saw a dusting of snow on the mountains, down to around 6-7,000 feet.
May 28th, and it snowed in the mountains.
Glad I didn't make camping plans.
Working today.
Working Monday.
As well as Tuesday and Wednesday.

If I'm at the station, I am working.
Well, the illusion of working, as I seem to be playing on the internet, as do you.

I got my nephew today. Me and him just got done mower the lawn and cruising the neighbor hood on the JD mower. I'm sitting here watching the "Flyng Leathernecks," I got some big ole steaks to BBQ tomorrow, I think I'm going to go check out our picnic site for our chp BBQ next Sunday. Other then that, not much planned.

This Weekend...
This has been the 'strangest' (so far) Memorial Day Weekend that I can ever remember.
I, as a typical American, have taken this three day weekend for granted for most of my life. This year, it seems to be taking on a different feeling or theme for me. I have spent more time reflecting on the cost of this holiday than ever before.
I have been thinking about my brother and sisters doing their patrols and avoiding IEDs. I think about those that are tracking down hostiles in Afganistan. I have spent a lot of time thinking about my brothers and sisters in Walter Reed Hospital and Bethesda Naval Hospital, and especially those at Arlington.
I can't help but think I need to be there. I don't know why. I've looked at several Individual Augmentation requirements and wondered what difference I could make. Who knows.
I will observe the "National Moment of Remembrance'' at 3pm local time tomorrow, and remember those who have gone before.
