So long B.E.R.T. .....

Bittersweet holiday this year y'all .... Mrs. Pistol got me a cool Valentines day gift .... an 08 Toyota FJ Cruiser .

Down side to the deal was that I had to trade B.E.R.T. to get it. So while I have a cool new ride, I am no longer a Cummins owner . The ol' truck was VERY good to me throughout the 6 years that I owned it but unfortunately due to my job, was spending more time parked in the driveway than being driven. Wasn't financially wise to use it for my job and I really want to drive my own vehicle (hate rental cars) so I decided to make the change.

Cool thing about the new ride .... NO CARPET !!!! I had no idea how hard it would be to find a vehicle with plain old rubber flooring without having to pay extra for the "option". Full time 4-wheel drive ... made it up the mile of solid ice dirt road to the house with no problem.
I got most of the bells and whistles that I wanted and actually got a decent deal IMO.

Soooooo .... I have officially joined the "Non diesel driving DTR-onians" club. FJ, Prius .... who knows what else.

Let the flaming and ridicule begin ...
Cheers,
PISTOL

As long as your keeping yourself financially stable then you can always buy another truck IMO.
That is like me, I am having a hard time parting w/ my fourwheeler that I bombed the heck out of ('04 YFZ450).
But I look at it this way, I can ALWAYS purchase another fourwheeler, bigger and better.. if it is what I want then I must work hard to earn it.

You gotta do what suits your needs at the present and that will benefit you now.

Good luck!

And glad to hear you're still addicted to DTR

Sounds like a good candidate for a 4bt swap . . . . once you wear out the original motor.

Yeah ... I knew I could count on you guys for givin me crap !! Wouldn't have it any other way .

Ya know ... the 4BT swap may happen someday. However, this thing actually does pretty good on it's own. Not a Cummins by any means ... but plenty peppy. With the 6 speed stick shift, it won't be long before I pick up a speeding ticket I'm sure.

Of course you can use the B.E.R.T. title ... I think it applies to yours as well hahaha.

You can bet ... I ain't leaving this madhouse. Been here for far too long .... wouldn't know how to act anywhere else.

Cheers,
PISTOL

With a heavy heart and a tear in me eye, we say goodbye to our old friend B.E.R.T........ "sniffle"

I can see it now...the ONLY chapter President that shows up at a function and asks if he can sit in a truck for awhile?

Hey, you got to do what you got to do in life, as Scotty always say's "This is not a practise life"
