Snow+Ice+Trees=:(
well tonight I had a interesting little mishap, that frankly im not as upset as i could be about. Well after waking up from a new years eve slumber with my fiancee i set out to brave the winter storm to taker her home. It has been snowing since the early evening and we probably have about six to ten inches right now, but anyway...So driving home while she sleeps on my shoulder(insert awws) I see somthing out of the corner of my eye and think ShooT then SMACK. What looked to be a melon sized chunck of snow and ice had fallen off a tree limb at the very particular moment i happen to be driving underneath it. Needless to say it broke my windsheild pretty nicely you can feel the crack from the inside of the truck. So you ask how I could not be very upset about this, well the windsheild already needed replacing due to a prior crack thanks to a trans service shop, either way a very dissappointing event. Anyway hope everyone had a safe and happy new years night, and enjoy your starts to a new year!

That sucks and would scare the crap out of me
Good thing that your windshield is already cracked...though you have to replace it now instead of later on.
Hope your night was good other than that little incident

Glad to hear it was only the windshield as bad as that is.
I was picturing in my mind that you had hit a patch of ice and slid into the trees making a mess of your truck.

I "had" a small chip from a meeting a gravel truck on the highway. It was about the size of a nickel. Well, right after that the temps started dropping in the 20's and we had a pretty major ice storm. I go out the next morning and a crack spread from one side of my windshield to the other. Looks really nice.

My question is, why didn't the trans service shop replace the windshield in the first place? Really has nothing to do with the new crack, but they still should have fixed it. Shouldn't they?

technically yes, but after going the rounds with them over how/when it was broken it was just better to walk away from it and just deal with it myself. They denied that they had broken it and that it had been sitting in their lot there fore they did not know when or how it was broken, personally im smarter than that but a new windsheild isnt that expensive on my truck, and instead of getting things too carried away i just bit my lip and walked away

Sorry to hear of the bad timing/luck with the ice. Sounds like you are OK both in health and with the situation itself. Gotta admit, not the best start to a new year though.
My brother got a chunk of concrete thrown at him from a overpass on the freeway. It went in the passenger side probably saving his life. His glasses saved his eyes.
