Shortening a truck
I had a 94 3500 flatbed a few years ago, and i believe it was a 12ft long flatbed so it was more than a regular longbed, anyways, i got rid of it because it was TOO BIG...since then, i have wondered if it would've been possible to cut about a foot out of the chassis and make it shorter? Has anyone done this?

Anything is possible with a torch, welder, some scrap steel and a creative mind. Me and a buddy of mine turned a CC long bed ford into a CC short bed ford. Took measurements from a short bed and transfered them to the CC and made a couple of gloves for the inside and outside of the frame. Shortened the fuel lines and what not and bolted the bed down. The gloves bolted to the frame inside and out. Then we welded them. Works great and has pulled a gooseneck trailer around the world since with two IH tractors on it.
