Rusty oil pan

Not sure if this is the right spot for this question but here it is...I was under my wifes 2001 Mazda car the other day changing the oil for the first time since we bought it last spring and found the oil pan has all the paint rusted off. I wire brushed it the best I could and sprayed it with Tremclad rust paint but suspect the heat from the oil will make that type of paint not last. Does anybody have any ideas what to use to stop the rust and take the heat? The only other vehicle I ever had with this problem was a Ford truck and I hear that Ford owns part of Mazda and here we go with a rusty oil pan again....I sold the truck but want to keep the car..

Depends on what model Mazda car it is. Some of the Mazda cars are Ford built and some of the Mazda trucks are Ford built and vice versa.
