RUSSIAN NAVY CAPTURES SOMALIAN PIRATES
http://true-turtle.livejournal.com/85315.html
This videotape shows Russian Navy commandos on a Somalian pirate ship shortly after the pirates had captured a Russian oil tanker. The Euro Union navy that patrols these waters would not interfere because they feared there could be casualties.
All explanations are in Russian with a single exception of when a wounded pirate says something in English. All conversations between the commandos are in Russian. If you don't understand Russian, the pictures speak for themselves.
The soldiers freed their compatriots, moved all the pirates to their own (pirate) ship, searched the pirate ship for weapons and explosives, and then they left the ship and exploded it with all remaining pirates on it.
The commandos sank the pirate ship along with the pirates and without any court proceedings, lawyers etc. That is, they used the anti-piracy laws of the 18th and 19th centuries where the captain of the rescuing ship has the right to decide what to do with the pirates. Usually, they were hung.
I would think from now on, Russian ships will not be targets for Somalian pirates

I wish I was as fine, as those who work the pipeline!
Seems as though not to long ago we would have had the guts to do the same. All I can say is good for the Russian government for standing up for it's people. Kinda wish we were still like that...

If you listen close you can hear more then a few words of English as the commandos talk to the pirates. Choice sailor words at that.
I doubt they blew it up with all hands, there is no advantage for the Russians to do that. Sinking pirate craft is done by the US navy on a regular basis. It just is not news too often. The pirates are pulled off and they end up getting sent to Kenya for trial.

As soon as they had them all lined up on deck, the Russians should have mowed them down with whatever firearms that is they have. THEN blow up and sink the rat craft.

I wonder if any vodka was consumed during or after the boat sank?
You have to love an AK-74 with 40 round bakelite mags in the hands of a Russian Commando or Spetsnaz. They look mean.

And apparently they were allowed to do what they were TRAINED to do... Protect their countries interests and people. Imagine that...

Didn't we recently have some Navy Seals that simultaneously decapitated 3 pirates with sniper rounds? Seems like we're not ones to put up with much of their crap either...

The Seals did it during the course of the rescue operation. If they did it after they were secured, theSeals would be plastered all over the news accused of murder, because though caught with their hand in the cookie jar, the pirates wouldn't have had the opportunity to tie up resources and run up the cost of our judicial system.
