I can't stand knuckleheads like those!
It will be my luck, the EPA will regulate-into-oblivion non-DPF diesels and I will never have the truck I want.
Negative Ned, out!

I wouldn't worry too much about the EPA. The other day I saw their command center on wheels "rollin coal" out of a gas station. It's only a matter of time before their employees destroy the agency.
Fun fact: Diesel in fact emits lower amounts of carbon monoxide, hydrocarbons and carbon dioxide than gas engines.
I agree with everyone here.. this is why diesel is $5 a gallon when it use to be under $2

With age comes the cage
CNN
Propaganda at it's finest...
Where is this same hard ball coverage on:
The Fukushima power plant disaster
The border crises..
The roads melting in Yellowstone - I'm sure they will blame that one on the coal burners too..
//end rant..

Like gun control, the media makes its' case around a few idiots and their isolated incidents. They insinuate that we are all guilty of such actions.
I didn't see an old NA Fords in that clip. The only time the one I had didn't smoke was when it wasn't running. Same with old VW Rabbits.

I'm surprised this is just now hitting mainstream concern. I've been saying a while now, everytime you pelt prius with smoke, the prius driver writes their congressman.

If you believe in global warming it's basically too late to fix it anyway. I have a real problem with being told that my house and vehicles have to meet air quality standards for the good of the planet when corporations can buy "carbon credits" that are cheaper than upgrading their pollution controls and allow them to continue to pollute. Make no mistake "going green" is a multi-billion dollar industry. Just ask Al Gore: the companies he owns make tens of millions a year off of "green" marketing.

Well said. I get the point of open carry but it raises tactical concerns for me. I carry concealed because I want it to be a surprise to the bad guy if I need to use it. Bringing your AR15 to lunch with you is kinda stupid. To me it makes you more of a target.

My father had a 1984 Mazda B2000 Sun Downer diesel pick up when I was a kid. 4 cylinder normally aspirated diesel engine with a 5 speed trans, 2 wheel drive. Truck couldn't get out of it's own way but would lug close 1300 pounds of coal up steep hills all day long (at 15mph!). When someone was riding his bumper going the speed limit up over the mountain he had no problem laying some smoke screen(before rolling coal was invented) to back them off. Pretty effective too. One of the only reasons I can see to smoke someone out on purpose. Wish I had that truck now...
