RCA video cables
A little background, I just bought a wireless color/IR camera to attach to the back of my TT for aid in backing up, passing car/trucks on corners etc. Problem being is the picture in the cab is not correct, the image on the left of the display is actually on the right of the trailer, not a big deal to remember that but would like to correct if possible.
So the question, I don’t know the workings of a standard RCA video cable. There are 2 “wires” in the cable, one on the post and one on the sleeve.
The question in mind is on these wireless cameras can we just swap the “wires” and reverse the video image?
I’m sure it’s not that easy but who or where better to ask.
Thanks
Bill.

what do you mean..the image is like looking directly out the back, or like looking in a rear view mirror?? And which one do you want?
I think thats wha you mean...the fog line is on the wrong side of the screen??
No, switching those wires wont reverse the image...You'll need a lens, like a binocular...Binos "see" the image upside down, and use a mirror/prism to correct it...Thats what you'll have to find

No it won't work.
The wire going to the center "pin" of the RCA is the SIGNAL or the information from the camera. The other wire that connects to outside part of the connector is only a SHIELD and does NOT carry any information. The SHIELD keeps any external "noise" from contaminating the real signal on the center pin.
I have seen some of these systems where you can reverse the view with some settings on the monitor itself.
