Unimportant Update!!

I have done a very loose experiment over the past month and using Edge gel, cold water and drying the Trac II after each shave has netted me a prolonged blade life..slightly.

2 of 3 blades have gone 7-9 shaves before tugging and tearing and getting tossed. The one that only went 4 must've been a bad one from the start.

Also, my old man says really rubbing the shave cream around and letting it set a minute may soften the beard, but I wasn't very steady on this procedure.

Neat but, Im still staying with my electric.
The head on this newer Norelco can be held under hot water to clean without damaging the electronics.
Its been over two years and the blades are still cutting just fine.
I bought one for my brother and he gets a rash if he tries using it. Guess they arent for everone.

Mythbusters did a show on the pyramid storage. They didn't think it did any good (I don't see how it could either) but who knows.

Got my goodfella razor, single blades, badger brush and Mr. Taylors shave cream. Wish I had used a single blade and good shave cream from the start. Replacement blades are 0.15 each. No turning back for this guy...

I don't mind.
1. I don't use it
2. I don't like the sandpaper effect.

UPDATE!

My dad got a tip from an oldster a while back and says this has been working for him and saving him a lot of money on blades.

A thin coat of Noxema cream prior to applying his shaving cream is prolonging the life of his blades for 6-8 weeks. He thinks it must help lube/soften the whiskers enough to ease the wear on the blades.

He uses those 4 blade atra's.

I'm going to see if it works for me. Noxema is a lot cheaper than blades!!

No but you have a mustache that is so darn big everyone thinks is a beard!!
Darn pumpies! Need to get that singed a few times opening a roof!

I been shaving with a mach 3 since they came out. Tried all the brands, the mach 3 still works the best. I go through 2 blade a week. just the cost of business.

Back in the day when shaving every day was mandatory ... I'd use nothing but .99 BIC single blades and could make 3 razors last a 6 month deployment.

Doing the beard thing these days and saving my $6 a year for beer .

Cheers,
PISTOL

IF you guys want to extend the time you get out of a blade, then simply place a tinfoil hat on your head while shaving.

Your electromagnetic field alterations stop the blade from wearing...

Worked for my cat.... and his neighborhood friend started doing it as well. It's the newest trend in a cat's personal hygiene

I used Schick Tracer FX in school. Someone got me a couple 3-blade razors (my aunt sent in for a free one for me because she was always after me to shave) and I hated them. Somehow I lost the T-FX handle along the way and I don't think I've used a razor since. Usually just a trimmer, or the shaver if I want to look fancy (in jeans and a t-shirt), but I start to break out bad if I don't shave every day, so I just leave some stubble mostly.
