Radio Controlled Trucks
My daughter is wanting a radio controlled car of truck of some kind,her friends all have them but they are n ot the one you buy @ KMART for $10 these are high performance fast,I think they go around 30 MPH,not sure if they are gas powered or battery,can someone shed some light on this for me since I have no idea?

Traxxus makes some good ready-to-runs.... check out tower hobbies, they have quite a selection... or at least they did when I was "big" into R/C as a youth.

Traxxas makes excellent equiptment, thats what i started with. Both gas and electric for very reasonable prices. They have a good supply of replacement parts which you will need, take it from experience.
If she is new to this stuff, I would start with an electric truck, Stampeed or rustler or maybe even the Emax if you desire. They are pretty tuff, cheap to fix and can be upgraded pretty easily. If she stays with it you can upgrade to gas and then the $ FUN $ begins..
PS: Traxxas is available at almost all hobby shops around the country and at most internet hobby stores.
