Sure wish we could see that come full-circle. Ya know, if we went to a non-english speaking country, we would be expected to speak the native language, so why can't they learn ours? And don't get me started on the metric system (no offense to our northern neighbors!)

LOL ... none taken. But it (metric) is invading your country. It's all around you & it's been there for a while. I guess the 5.9 litre CTD sounds a little hotter than the 1.55 gallon CTD

I think what they mean by "jobs Americans won't do" is actually "jobs American employers aren't willing to pay enough for somebody not scared of being turned into INS to do", but that's just me.

I've been saying that for a long time and I believe it too. What is an American? Every race and nationality in the world that wants freedom. We have our way of life and our language, If someone wants to be an American, then BE an American, If not they have the freedom to GO to what ever country they want and speak their language.

Actually, I think employers would be willing to pay higher wages if they could recoup the higher costs when selling their goods or services. The fact is, we the customers, won't pay these higher costs. So, where is the root problem?

In a similiar way, the root problem isn't with illegal drug growers & importers. Instead it is those upstanding citizens who create the demand in the first place!

It is not 1.55 gallons...it is 359 cubic inches.

We are paying the higher price, they're just pocketing the money. Seriously, if we were reaping the savings on stuff like this, wouldn't meat and vegetables be almost free for what they pay the people to handle them?

I'll let the farmers answer this one but, I've raised enough beef animals that I can assure you that if I could have set the price, everyone would be paying 3X as much for their meat. You, like everyone else, are going to buy from the low-cost supplier. The market sets the price based on what people are willing to pay. If someone can't match the prices, then they go out of business. That's what free enterprise is all about. That's why Walmart is succeeding and that's why China is becoming the "supplier of choice." The mark-up on most merchandise will barely keep a business going. And, when they go out of business, people lose their job and China gets the business.

Nobody ever said that life is fair!
