Quite a Suprise
Yesterday I had to take my 14 year old (turns 15 Dec. 20) daughter to the grocery store. In Minnesota she can start taking Drivers Ed. when she is 15 (Oh Boy, there goes the insurance :- :-). She asked me if we were taking our '03 caravan or the truck. The caravan has less than 2000 miles on it BTW. I said it is up to you. She emphaticly said TRUCK. When we were on the road she looked at me and said "Someday I'm gonna have me one of these trucks". I knew she kinda liked the truck but not that much! She is my kind of girl!! ;D ;D

Unfortunately I had the opposite experience. My son (just turned 15) told me he would never own a truck especially a noisy smelly diesel. He wants a ricer. Where o where did I go wrong. Probably spared the rod too much.
My wife on the other hand has seen the light she would own one if they weren't so big. She loves the truck and the power.

My wife is the opposite of my daughter. She hasn't said anything, but.............. She doesn't much care one way or the other.

Re:Quite a Suprise
I offered to buy my wife something smaller as she drives the truck for her errands etc. She always parks way out in the parking lots and takes 2 spaces to keep idiots from banging doors. She would not hear of driving anything else. Truck drivin wife all the way. ;D ;D Saved me money (possible bomb funds)

Did you drive a Ford growing up? It may be possible that it effected your 'jeans'

Driving a Ferd will affect both your "jeans" and your "genes".

Hey Tom, I grew up in Duluth. Pretty town but darn cold this time of year. How's that CTD run up there in the winter? Do you have to drive far in the morning before you get heat?

Re:Quite a Suprise
Hey Tom
Just the thought of daughters driving makes me laugh. I specifically remember both of mine swearing they would never learn to drive a manual trans vehicle. At the time my folks owned a christmas tree farm north of Grand Rapids, MN, so I would force them to drive the old farm trucks and tractors.
After more jerky starts and kills than a person could remember, I still laugh when two grandaughters later, they are both driving manual trannys and ALWAYS want to take my CTD 6 speed out for whatever lame excuse they can come up with. (Ones in Fargo and the other Bismarck)
Thanks for the memory..

Re:Quite a Suprise
Ram 04 it isn't too cold here now. I just looked at the thermometer and it is 27.9 degrees outside. That's at 8am too!!! The lowest that I have seen here this year is only -1. We only have about 2" of snow right now too. That is supposed to melt down even more since the temp on sunday is predicted to be 36!!!!
BTW, my daughter made the comment "I know you won't let me drive your truck" and my wife said "Well, what makes you think I want her to drive my van?". You know what that means..............MAYBE ANOTHER CTD ;D ;D ;D

Re:Quite a Suprise
Tom,
36 degrees sounds like short sleeve weather up there. But come January BRRRRRRR!!! I do miss it up there sometimes and try to get back there to visit my parents but they usually come out my way to visit me. On a side note, now that I have a "real" truck I can't seem to keep my wife from wanting to drive it. She didn't/doesn't care for my other truck much and always insisted we take her car when we go anywhere together. Now we never take her car anywhere together and she is always stealing my truck to run errands. It has to be the Cummins, No?
