Questions regarding Old liquor
Hey guys,
my father purshased about 25 bottles of old booze from an estate sale back in minnesota a few years ago which he gave to me. i am wondering what to do with it as i dont really have the space to keep it and i dont want to waste it by drinking it either. has anyone dealt with old liquor in the collectables market at all? all the bottles are sealed with a weird tax paid sticker from the 1950s.
this is not an advertisement? i just dont know how to go about selling these or the legality of it. any information would be helpful

Send it all to me. If it's still good, I'll let you know. If there's anything left when I'm done 'checking it out', I'll send it back so you can sell it!

I think some of those old tax stamp bottles can have a collector value. Also some old bottles use cork in the stoppers and deteriorating cork does not improve the flavor of whiskey. Had an uncle(Rest His Soul) was somewhat of a bottle collector. Mostly commerative bottles and Jim Beam Decanter bottles. He had one shaped like a covered wagon and the wheels turned I think. Sorry if this don't help, Just made me think of a favorite uncle.

Probably depends on the storage conditions but if it's been kept on ice, it may still be as good as it was back in the day.

It's my pot and I'll stir it if I want to. If you're not careful, I'll stir your's as well!

I think I can... I think...
The alcohol content in liquor is high enough that I'd bet it would never go bad as long as you kept in in the dark and away from extreme heat.
Well as long as the seal doesn't break down.

I say drink it down... Pull out a bottle every year on special occasions. I have an old Jack bottle still full from the 60's or earlier I'll drink one day.
It's under ice? I thought the ice was disappearing? Sometimes it makes ya wonder if what you hear on the news is true .
