Another thing I noticed there was no expiration on the offer... is that normal? I would think if there is no expiration, then the seller could hold onto your offer as long as they want?

So... If I make an offer on something and they want to hold out and see who is the "highest bidder" and within that reasonable time I go and buy something else because they took too long then they can't come back on me.

Well, interest rates are pretty much controlled by the Fed, and they haven't dropped them any. But prices could drop.
Around here everything is holding pretty steady, but houses are taking longer and longer to sell.

All depends on the market where you are looking at.
Prices where i live vary widely.. I can go 2 miles north and a house my size costs $120k. Where im at its $220k. If i was 2 miles south, itd be about $320k.
Prices/demand/inflation vary so much by zip code you cant believe anything a realtor says.
They are there to make money. If they can convince you NOW is the time to buy or sell, they make money.
If they have your best interest in mind, they wouldnt be in business.. because there is never the "best" time to buy or sell.. so youd be waiting forever.
Theyd be rich, not a realtor, if they knew when was the time to buy or sell.
