You need one of these---American Bulldog(named WRIGLEY)---110LBS,loyal,loveable to family but will tear you a new Edit if needed and never had a problem with prowlers of any sort.I had a 120lbs female one too as back up as well but she passed on.PS---first photo is the sister pup---1 1/2 years old Mastiff and tips the scale at 170LBS plus she has a male at 200LBS,both eat 12cups of food a day but they have a job to do and that watch the animals/house on the farm. The dog will know long before you do if stranger is around day or night.DW---"Happy Hunting"

I was thinking the same.

I have a hard enough time with the Vizsla and the mini weiner (playtoy for the Vizsla).

I have the son of these two...Diva & Gir. Sorry, no current pic of the son, Gomer, who is still growing at 18 months old. Around a 100 lbs. now. Should top out between 120-130. Motion sensor and video as back up, and of course my "broken BB gun" as a last resort.

Had a prowler issue once when i was living with mom and dad still. My brother woke my up really late on a friday night saying someone was hanging off the roof looking through his window at him and his GF. He wanted me to go look outside, so me, Boomer (the 140 Rottweiler) and my .12 ga 870 went out for a walk around the yard. Sure enough there was a person on my parents roof on the second story. Funny thing is prowlers don't care for big mean dogs and they hate when a shotgun it pointed at them. I yelled at the guy and aimed the gun near him and he took off...and so did Boomer! Boomer almost got him too, the prowler was only about 2 steps in front of Boomer before they reached the invisible fence where Boomer stopped. I know we scared him big time that night, he was scared enough that he jump from 12ft. To end it, we found out this guy was a nut job that use to date my brother girlfriend years before, I guess this kind of behavior was fairly common with him.

Sorry to hear this Don it makes me think he was doing recon for a future visit..... I tell you I don't think I would mess with setting any traps, dogs or fancy alarm systems if it were me I would be in a dark corner waiting on him with a Louisville slugger.

Break his legs and he wont be creeping around for awhile, drag him to the street and report a prowler in the front yard. I hate thieves........

I used to have a lot of trouble but a .45 revolver and a game camera with infrared flash took care of that. I'd had a lot of tools, yard equipment and scrap metal missing out of my fenced area. When I found pry marks on my windows to the garage, I set up the camera and a motion detector with a flashing light for an alarm.

I grabbed my cordless and the dog and went out the back door after him. It's amazing how loud the "CLICK" on a Colt .45 revolver is in the early morning. He claimed he was just cutting through my yard on the way home. I downloaded 14 pictures from my camera. 7 of them were of him and two of them had him prying on the window. I was able to download them on the spot and gave the deputy a flash drive with the pictures. They got a warrant and found all sorts of interesting things in his garage. Firearms (he's a convicted felon, several riding mowers, a couple of 4 wheelers and to top it all off, lots of meth ingredients.

I knew the deputy and he told me later that he told the bad guy he was surprised there weren't bullet holes in him as I'm trigger happy. (I'm not, but it keeps the bad people away.)

I agree. I am more hands on as well and traps could get me in trouble later on.

The neighbor stopped by again late as I was finishing up work for the night on the camera system. I already sleep with one eye open and figured the cameras could sleep with the other eye open for me. He told me he didnt call the police because he was not sure if it was me out walking one of our dogs and he did not want to stir up trouble, but did want to call us and ask what was going on. The neighbor is a retired cop. He joined after Vietnam let him go. We watch out for one another and spend a few days out a month shooting together.

This person spent extra time trying to look through my 15 year old daughters window. This may be a young teenage kid trying to make a late night love call. Currently we dont allow her to have a boyfriend and she does not, but some of these teenage boys listen as well as a brick wall would. Like I said earlier I am convinced they walked into the neighborhood. Miles to get here from any direction. On the other hand it may be a sex freak convict or a thief. Hopefully the cameras will capture his image so I know what I am dealing with.

I was at SEMA in 05 when I worked for Predator Motorpsorts out of San Diego buiding H-1's etc. walking along the outside displays and we saw a H-2 with this thing moving along the hood when people would walk by. Got closer to see what it was and it was a MINI GUN (GOD BLESS CHRIS DILLON) with a motion guided system that would follow you where ever you were in line of fire. was like YAHOOO but then when it pointed at me was like OH CRAP that would suck. was the coolest thing I saw that whole week we were there.

Where can I order this? Can this be installed in a weekend? Any special tools needed? I'll be changing my oil and fuel filter so I can do this too when I do those
