Possibility of renting 3-car hauler? Need advice on transport...
I'm in the military, stationed down in West Texas (San Angelo, Goodfellow AFB). I went out to Ft. Bragg, North Carolina over the last week going through hell trying to apply for a special-duty assignment, and it paid off. I'm supposed to PCS (move) out there in November/December time-frame.
Here's my problem, I have a lot of toys. I have a single-car bumper-pull trailer, but that's not going to help me much in this situation.
Here's what I have:
'97 Dodge Ram 2500, 4x4 diesel, 5-speed
'79 Bronco 4x4 auto
'87 Mustang 351W turbocharged (in the build-up process)
'88 Mustang LX 5.0
'97 Formula 383 LT1 6-speed
'99 Suzuki GSX-R 600
Girlfriends car - 2002 Toyota Echo
I also have a '93 F-250 diesel auto 2WD but thatwill be sold by then. (I HOPE!)
As you can see, moving across country is going to be an issue.
I was THINKING I could do it like this:
Dodge Ram, pulling a 3-car hauler with the 87 Mustang, 88 Mustang, and 97 Firebird on the back.
Bronco, pulling my single-car hauler, with my g/f's Toyota Echo, and maybe motorcycle on there if that fit.
I don't know how I'd go about renting a 3-car hauler though, or if it's even possible? Any ideas what I'd expect to pay to have the 87 Mustang, 88 Mustang, 79 Bronco, and 97 Firebird shipped for me across from San Angelo, TX to Fayetteville, NC? (1411.96 miles)
Looking for any advice here. Selling any isn't really an option...I MIGHT sell the 88 Mustang, but prefer to keep it!

I would buy a trailer to move, then sell it, or have a company like R+L Carriers or Roadway see if they will drop a couple trailers for you, then you can load them up with the cars and or things from your house and have them moved. the trick there is getting the vehicles up on a dock height trailer..... Talk to the freight companies and see if they can do anything for you on that.

Sell Mustang LX 5.0
Sell 2002 Toyota Echo
Girlfriend drives the formula 383 LT1 to new destination, buys CTD on arrival.
You drive 97 dodge ram to destination, Suziki in bed of Dodge, and one car trailer with your 87 mustang on it.
Easy.

I'am in the same situation. I've been looking for one to rent, but no luck. I really don't want to buy one then have to sell it as soon as I get to my next duty station. If any buddy knows where to rent one please post.
