All I had was that cinnamon gel stuff. I figured I'd at least give it a try, if it did't work at least I'd have a free air freshner.

A while back I had a load of new vans on the truck and my CB whip got into the back corner of a van. Messed up the clear coad. I stopped at a boat supply and purchased a polish for clear coat. Pricey, about $20 but much rubbing and the clear coat was restored. I later used it on the dash plastic and my cell phone with real good results. It is basically a very fine scratch remover.

If the haze is really thick and old then it may be a bear to get off. Try using NeverDull which is avaialble at most large stores such as Wal Mart. Test on the edge first. Have used it on really badly scrached and hazed plastic with great results. Wash with soap and water afterwards and then finish with Pledge. As was stated earlier, NEVER use a paper towel on plastic.
The reason I say to finish with Pledge is that Pledge has an acrylic base which fills in any small scratches remaining.
Let us know what worked the best and the final results.

Well the 3M plastic cleaner and polish worked pretty well. The cleaner got about 95% of the haze off, and the polish fixed all the scratches and really cleared up the clarity. I was debateing just getting the cleaner, but it's worth it to get the polish too.

A good trick I've learned to clean and condition plastic is good old fashioned Turtle wax (pastwe). Used to do my pop-up camper windows. Nice and clean, comes off easy after drying, crystal clear and soften the plastic so as not to dry out and crack as with harsh chemical cleaners. Give it a whirl.
