ride with people all the time and can see their digital scope and they are showing 165 (NEW Liter bike) and I am showing 150 and my friends GPS shows 135 mph.
Don't get all caught up in the new liter bike hype. and again we are only talking 10 mph between what is proven and what is not. but

That alone could account for at least a 10mph discrepency, just round up.

by its own speedo my 1985 K100 RS BMW will sit on the rev limiter at 149 all day. the thing retards the timing the last 500 rpm, and at 145ish you think the thing is seizing up, its only the first time it scares the bejeebers out of you, after you realize what its doing, its normal.

I don't see how they can go that fast in the first place. I am trying to get used to the high speeds they allow on the autobahns and I still get white knuckled over 100 mph. I can't even fathom doing over 200 mph in anything let alone sitting on a motorcycle.
Although, I am gonna try out the train over here that will do an excess of 180 mph

I have had two modded Hayabusa's and the fastest I've ever gone was 194mph on the GPS. The guy on the Honda verified on the Hayabusa forum that his bike is very modded but still tops out at 180. The rest of the mph was due to the stopwatch holder being highly inacurate. The test strips the police were using were 1/4 mile apart, meaning that it only took the bike 2.5 sec. to cross them. At this rate .2 seconds of error is ALOT of mph!
BTW----> Any bike on a highway that is capable of speeds over 180 has the ability to outrun police helicopters. It's just that it's nearly impossible to maintain these speeds long enough due to traffic or whatever.

The Aerospatiale which some folks are using has a top speed of 183 mph and a cruise of 173 mph.
The Bell heilos top out at ~150 mph.
They ain't as slow as they used to was.
Anyway, all they need to do is keep you in sight, not stay on top of you.
Don't most bike pursuits end up with the Biker in the back of an ambulance?
They just wait for the rider to make a mistake, then bring out the spatula.

The hyabusa is in the book of world records as being the fastest production bike(Stock) .. just a few clicks shy of 210.

Highway 61 in Minnesota must be a nice stretch of road. At those speeds you don't need to outrun anything. They'll just wait for you to come to them.

Thanks gunracer1, 200mph is very obtainable. A good friend of mine, stood in my wedding. Was clocked at 227 in New Orleans East/Slidell stretch by the state police. Now this was on a completly custom built bike about 18 years ago. Oh yea, he got away, ditched the bike in the weeds and walked away.

Top speed on my 2003 BMW K1200GT remains undetermined but WELL short of 200 MPH!
