I currently plow with an 83 chevy 2500 350 gasser. its got the 4 speed with a creeper gear, 8ft fisher. I pushed some snow with that truck biggest one was 30 inches of wet, It came in the day and I couldn't get home to take half of it. I put it in 4L creeper gear and held it to the floor, It pushed my entire driveway(1/4 mile) with out letting up. I was told by an old friend to keep the blade stright in a big storm, but only for the first pass I would have never made it if i had angled the blade.
I got the CTD for plowing, but haven't found me a 9ft fisher yet. My chevy is rusted out, the bed is about ready to fall off, there are large holes in the floor.

hey, I had a 9ft before, and I had a 7 1/2. The 7 1/2 is good but with the wide stance of the dodge and the blade angled, you run over the snow that rolls off the edge of you blade. The 9 ft is just that much more difficult to manuver in tight places especially when your holding your beer
i'll take the 8' all day long

There was a western 10' on my truck when I got it. It is now sitting on the ground (on 4x4's) waiting for someone to need it.
not enough snow around here to go to the hassle of hooking it up.

Yes i realize it weighs that much,I am planning on changing out the front springs on both sides to number 48s,and installing new shocks and timberans.Plus it will even out once you load the 800lb V-box salter with 1,000 pounds of salt or sand.

I'm in Texas now but bought my truck in Virginia. It had a snowplow attachment. I'm sure it contributed to this!
