Okay here goes - tell the lowest price for gas and diesel fuel that you can remember.
I remember 60 cents for gas and 35 cents for diesel somewhere in the early 80's - wasnt buying it then - for some reason I just remember it.
For some bearing, my dad said he remembers 18 cents a gallon - he is 60.
And I know that blah, blah, blah - inflation can be factored in...but who cares...just have some fun with it.

Ten years ago I remember paying less than $1.00 ($0.97 - $0.99) per gallon of gas - didn't know anything about diesels at the time, so don't recall that price....

I can recall walking down to the corner gas station and buying a gallon of gas for my mini bike and a candy bar for .25 cents
We would pick up bottles to cash in for the deposit and have gas to ride all week long. It was around .17 cents a gallon, the candy bar was only a nickle.
My father had a 100 gallon fuel tank on the back of his truck. The station gave Bluechip Stamps and when he filled up, they would hand him what looked like a roll of toilet paper in stamps
Mom loved them, she was always getting a new Iron or toaster or something for free because of those stamps

When I started driving (1972) I was paying 22.9 for regular. It took 25 cents a week to drive to school and an occasional trip to a friends house. First car, 1959 Austin A40(traded a home built air compressor for it.)

I remember when gas was right below a dollar a gallon when I started driving around 10 years ago then started slightly increasing then i remember it jumping up to about $1.85 over night when I had to have the fuel pump replaced so I lost most of that fuel!
I think when I bought my 04 Hemi regular was around 1.35 if I recall correctly.

When I started driving it was at about $1.45...But I remember seeing it around a $1 when I was riding around with my old man. I used to get gas for the go-kart and it was $1.15.
Man I miss those days...

I remember when self-serve was first introduced and I'd pump gas into the family car for my dad at $0.489 or $0.499. That was back in the days of regular and unleaded and he could still find Ethel when needed for his 340 Duster.
