Places to visit while in Beaufort, SC ?

My GF and I are going down to Beaufort, SC in May for a Marine Corps boot camp graduation.

Can anyone who lives down that way suggest anything to see or do while visiting?

I live here, I am a SSgt in the USMC... I work on the air station now, just got done with 3 years on PI as a hat... I'll show ya around. Not too much to do in Beaufort, there are a few tours, some nice old houses, but that's about it. Depending on how long you are staying, Savannah is nice, Charleston is nice too.

LMK, I'll help you out...

What Company is he/she in? I may know the DI's... (insert evil smilie...)

downtown BF is a nice walk thru, old shops, expensive stuff,

but the GF will like it.

it's a neat old town, but pretty slow paced.

You are only about 70 miles from Charleston. It is a really nice place to visit.
Was stationed there from 89-93. Carriage ride through the historic district, check out the Battery, the market.... Lots to do, wife loved it when I took her there.

Sure Madhat..... it's kinda tuff right now. I am the the SR. RF Engineer for SunCom wireless in Savannah. We just got bought by T-Mobile, the deal closed last Friday. I still have a job, that's about all I know. It's been crazy but we can give it a shot one day.

Savannah also has carriage rides through downtown Savannah and trolly tours if the weather isn't nice. Lots to see, do some searching online and pic some stuff to do.

Thanks guys. I'm not sure how long we'll be down there. We're driving down, and back up. I have to be back at work first thing Monday morning, so probably not more than a day.

From what I gather, she's in the toughest company, Oscar Co. (unless all the DIs say that). She certainly doesn't need anymore attention...I guess they get in trouble for anything... even if I don't address her letter correctly.

in Charleston, you can stay on base in the old Navy Housing.

they converted about 4 units into "motel" or whatever.

basically, a big efficiency. i can hunt down a number if anyone needs a place to stay while passing thru.

it;s like $20 a night or something
