Man ! that is terrible. My prayers go out to all of them...

Nature is an incredible thing. Look at the trees in the first pic. it looks like a bomb went off.

not being from the midwest, I am totally ignorant to tornados. I was walking around the sight and noticed a bunch of 2x4's sticking out of the ground at an angle. they were driven into the ground almost a FOOT. thats insane! I cant even imagine being inside a house and listening to it get compeletely torn apart.

so you haven't seen hay pushed into a power pole? Or cattle that have the hair gone off half their body? How about asphalt removed from the road leaving the cement curbs?

nope. I've seen tsunami damage, and many many many avalanche sites, along with lots of earthquake damage, but this is only my second tornado scene.

it blows my mind.

Tonados do some CRAZY things. Its not uncomon for them to completly destroy one house and not even reomve a shingle from the one next to it. They will blow them 2x4s clean threw brick walls or cattle. Ive heard of farmers having to shoot cattle because they where walking around with 2x4s sticking out of them.

thats insane. it was really sad to hear, there was an old couple that couldnt make it their basement in time (I guess they were pretty old) and they got sucked out of their house. they found them a couple miles away....i just cant imagine what you would even be thinking just before that thing came knocking you know?

A couple of weeks ago the the tornados hit the Kansas City area the local news showed the destruction and one house with just about everything gone had a refrigerator standing up in what must have been the kitchen. The refrigerator door was gone. The food in the refrigerator was still standing in it's appropriate place.
