Pet Food Recall - Save your pets
Just wanted to share this with everyone - hope it made it into the right forum. There has been a major pet food recall, link below. Cat and Dog food are both affected - check the site. I have had some problems getting to the site, I think there is more traffic than it can handle, but refresh the page a couple times if you have trouble it should work.

Hope people see this before it is too late...

You have to CAREFULLY watch the news to determine which manufacturers are affected by this. I work for Pedigree and none of our wet foods have been affected by this. I am hoping that the NEWS does a better job of reporting than they have, they make it sound like all wet pet food, not just select manufacturers.

The article on the menufoods website I posted says specifically the type of wet food that was affected ("cuts and gravy" style pet food in cans and pouches). It seems the cause was one ingredient that they started getting from a new source during the time period - they have since switched to a different source. And the news I saw basically gave a website and said check to see all the brands... Pedigree is not listed as one of them...

Same crap happened to my dog back home in Mass that lives with my mom. I guess the reports came back as some kind of toxic poisoning, cost my mom over $1,000 to get everything squared away with the dog.
Wonder if there's a way to get that money back?

On the web site the co. states it will cost 30-40 million dollars to them. They did indicate they would pay for medical/vet cost. Saying it and doing it are two different results. There will probably be a class action law suit soon! Just be thankful your pet is alive.

The cause was found to be grain from China that was treated with a rodenticide that is illegal in the US. Another case of companies trying to cut costs and end up paying out the wazoo. What was the old saying? Dollar smart and pound foolish?
