I just applied for my passport-I know it takes 'bout a month to get. What Im wondering, is anything like papers, docs ect needed to travel to germany. Im going to a concert and will only be there about a week. I'd hate to get to the airport and have everything setup and reserved only to be told sorry-u cant go

Short answer, for a week as a tourist you don't need a visa. Here is a great web site for US travelers.
http://www.usa.gov/Citizen/Topics/Tr...national.shtml
ENTRY/EXIT REQUIREMENTS: Germany is a party to the Schengen Agreement. As such, U.S. citizens may enter Germany for up to 90 days for tourist or business purposes without a visa; entry into Germany begins the 90 day limit for the entire Schengen area. The passport should be valid for at least three months beyond the period of stay. For further details about travel into and within Schengen countries, please see our Schengen fact sheet.

HAHA!! No, I am going to see Rammstein in dresden. So, from what i am understanding-its not so much how new the passport is, but rather when it expires. In that case, i have nothing to worry about. What was worrying me is somewere I read its required to have the passport 6months before travel, medical card, and some other stuff. I think I may have confused that info(visa requirements) as being passport requirements.
Thanks for the links!! Lots of reading!!!

As Iron Mike said, as long as you don't stay there longer than 90 days, if you want to stay longer than 90 days you can bop over to France for a few weeks then pop back over to Germany. If you don't want to go to France you'd have to get a Visa of some sort, i.e, work/student etc, to stay longer in Germany. Happy traveling!!

Have fun in Germany. Me and my brother went there in May. It was awesome. Passport, and ID are all i took. and a bunch of $$$. Make sure you dont get it stolen and make sure you get correct change when making purchases, See that a lot.
Make a photo copy of your passport, ID, Credit cards etc. give one copy to a friend back in US and take a copy with you in case you loose some thing/gets stolen.
