Any more with the quality of wood trim these days we just use MDF and take time painting it with good oil based paint. Now if we are talking hardwood trim, different story. But pine, standard profile, aint worth the hassle to me, I would rather take the trim off, paint the walls good, pre-stain and pre-paint my trim, install it and just touch it up. Get on here and laugh at Blake.

Or chad.

He works at Van DeLay industries. A manufacturer of Latex. I believe he was hired as a salesman.

I didn't want to break the video rules, or mess up imbedding it wrong, so just in case, search on "seinfeld van delay industries" and watch the clip from the show. You'll split a gut on this one. One of their best

I use pre-primed MDF also. However, you always seem to ding the jamb no how careful you are........putty is your buddy if you decide to replace the trim.....I still like the sand, prime, and finish route......cheaper to me in the long run if you are footing the bill.

Hey Jeff,
I see what you did there!!

And I agree with removing all the trim and painting the walls and then repainting or staining the trim. That is actually one of this winters house projects........ At least that is what my wife tells me my project is
