You reflect my feelings exactly - - that is one reason I RV - - I sleep in my own bed each night while away from home. Even we go to a friend's house and overnight, we will almost always sleep in the RV. Everything we need is in there. Love it - - walk in and I am home.

Island? You want an island? How about if I put one in the middle of the pond out on the ranch? You can build a nice little compact house, put a drawbridge over to dry land, keep the gators out of the pond and have tilapia for supper. Just think, your home in Florida on an island with tilapia caught off your porch and gator tail shot from out your window. What fun!!! Could even have a some coyote for a menu change.

I am shutting this thing down for the night. Been on it too long getting much needed catch up done. Ya'll sleep tight - - going to go get in MY bed. YEH.

Well actually I have a slightly different need for my island.
I need one where I can have a secret lab to create and raise genetically modified mutant shrews for the army I need to take over the world.
I will be a tough but fair world dictator.
The people who survive will remember me as being intelligent and caring up to the point where I go crazy from drinking too much mercury and push the wrong button.

Got to the chiropractor this evening. Was hoping that the pain in my left arm was from my neck and back being way out. Nope. Tendonitis, he says it's mild, showed me how to work the muscle around and said to get a elbow brace if it doesn't start feeling better.

I felt a few inches taller for a little while.

Corry missed work yesterday and spent the night at the hospital. They came up with heat stroke. Woke up yesterday with a migraine and it got worse through the day, went to the ER and they pumped some saline in him and kept him overnight. Funny thing is, he was fine Tuesday afternoon when he left for home, and he drinks more water than I do.

Boss has me looking for parts for his boy's Toyota pick-up. It overheated and the local 22RE expert says to get a new head for it. The yotatech people seem to think that engnbldr.com is the way to go so that's what I am going to tell him to do. Them or LCE, but LCE is ridiculous expensive.

Must be getting a resistance to the "happy weeds". Mowed a bunch Monday, started feeling sick when I could smell it, half hour later I got real hungry, half hour later I was OK again. Mowed a bunch yesterday and today again and didn't get sick or anything.

Probably have a good week left of mowing roadsides. If the corn head gets put back together in time we'll be trying to pick some corn next week. It was looking like we wouldn't be able to start til about October, but with the heat this week it went gangbusters ripening and drying out.

Found a facebook page about highway 83. Went way back on it and didn't find any mention of old 83 south of North Platte, so I found it on yahoo maps, thought it hooked back up with the new highway at Wellfleet, but it actually goes clear into Maywood. I'm going to have to go to North Platte that way sometime just to say I've run it.

Mornin' all.

It is Friday, August 30th.

1645 - American Indians and the Dutch made a peace treaty at New Amsterdam. New Amsterdam later became known as New York.

1682 - William Penn sailed from England and later established the colony of Pennsylvania in America.

1780 - General Benedict Arnold secretly promised to surrender the West Point fort to the British army.

1862 - The Confederates defeated Union forces at the second Battle of Bull Run in Manassas, VA.

1941 - During World War II, the ***** severed the last railroad link between Leningrad and the rest of the Soviet Union.

1945 - General Douglas MacArthur set up Allied occupation headquarters in Japan.

1956 - In Louisianna, the Lake Pontchartrain Causeway opened.

1963 - The "Hotline" between Moscow and Washington, DC, went into operation.

1965 - Thurgood Marshall was confirmed by the U.S. Senate as a Supreme Court justice. Marshall was the first black justice to sit on the Supreme Court.

1983 - The space shuttle Challenger blasted off with Guion S. Bluford Jr. aboard. He was the first black American to travel in space.

1984 - The space shuttle Discovery lifted off for the first time. On the voyage three communications satellites were deployed.

1994 - Rosa Parks was robbed and beaten by Joseph Skipper. Parks was known for her refusal to give up her seat on a bus in 1955, which sparked the civil rights movement.

1994 - The largest U.S. defense contractor was created when the Lockheed and Martin Marietta corporations agreed to a merger.

1996 - An expedition to raise part of the Titanic failed when the nylon lines being used to raise part of the hull snapped.

Hey, big boy has my back - - I try to have his but just can't cover it - - too big. LOL

Morning all. Hey, watch for a virus that will lock up your peuter with a very formal looking page from the FBI telling you have been found to be trolling for porno and animal **** stuff. Ewe all had better be careful. It promises you will be monitored, face penalties of 200,000 and 500,000 and you will be deprived of your liberties for from 4 to 12 years. They name it the FBI Cybercrime Division International Cyber Security Protection Alliance. Wow, quite a write up some character put together. Anyhow, you can hard shut down, come back in and it jumps right back in and locks you up on their page. Had to do a "go back" so I could get to my antivirus and wipe it out. No repeats of it so far. A friend called last night and he had the same thing. After jazzing him about watching what sites he hits, he said his picture was on the sheet showing him sitting at his computer in his home. That is scarry. Big brother is watching us - - woooowoooo woooo woooo. They want you to click on their site to buy a Money Paks Green Dot, pay them $300 and they will release your computer. Or, you can go to Walgreens, CVS, Walmart, 7-11 and couple others and buy the Money Pak. In their words, stuff it with cash, pay the cashier the service fee of $4.95 for handling. Then enter the digits on the money pac (I guess back home on your computer) and press the "Pay Money Pak" and your computer will be freed up. Have no idea what to do with this money pak that is now stuffed with cash. Crazy. Anyhow, make sure your antivirus is UTD - - mine was, but it got by it somehow - - at least it caught it when I worked around it.

OK, grabbing my ph00 and off to work. Have a goodurn.

Bob

Howdy folks. Hope everyone is having a good day today. Lazy as this may sound....I'm tired of busy ALL the time!! Back to my 1 day a week off, even though I stay busy that day too. However, I have chosen to take Sunday off to observe Dove Season and partake in it's splendor!!! Can't wait.

Scott, sorry to hear about your 'other mother'. Kinda rare to hear about people doing what she did for you anymore. You have my thoughts and prayers.

Bob, hope everything is still on the up-and-up for your family. Stay positive.

I better get back out and tend to my chores before the 104* goes into effect! Not looking forward to that at all. On the bright side, it should start to cool down some in another couple of months....hopefully around mid-November. Actually kinda looking forward to it.

Later.

Hey, guess what - - that is exactly how I am feeling - - and I am supposed to be retired. Slowly my list is getting smaller. Sure ready for next week - - nothing to do but relax and enjoy for a whole month. And thanks for continuing your prayers - - everything is on schedule and she is getting some personality back, but that is supposed to all change with the new meds next month. Horrors. She has a long road to travel before she goes home.

Just wrapped up my morning work - - now have to get beautiful and go to another funeral this afternoon. Then, some fun time with a progressive dinner for my class - - that will be fun.

Grabbing another ph00 to celebrate getting so much done this morning. CYA later. ..................

My brother called me and told me not to open an e-mail from a mutual friend. Said he got something similar from his email and it didn't even have an attachment, just a picture.

They can imbed programming into a picture, you open the picture, program starts running, boom, they got ya.

Webcam's built into a computer are real easy to hack. I won't have a computer that has one built in. That's how they got his picture.

Corry went back to the hospital last night. They sent him home with some pain meds, that didn't help. Some even better ones (like the ones Jeff Foxworthy talks about seniors having) didn't help either. With his wife working every time the boys wake up at night, he's up with them. Probably just exhaustion, but he is finally feeling better.

Told the boss' dad of course they don't know what's going on, he went to McCook hospital!!!!

well MR Rambling Man, I thought it was me that skeered away all the posters

but now I see who the culprit iz......

yes, indeed- forgot to set alarm for vet trip; fortunately and GOOD NEWS!
electric company way up North called to say they will put in my electric for free! happy, happy, happy.
so phone call made me get going for vet trip. cat thought otherwise as I went to get carrier. caught her outside the jeep and tossed her in, not happy.
she knew enough to step on the window button so I had to think fast and drive safe. sweaty, covered in angry cat fur, but I made it in there. cute n happy fake cat went inside the vet's office. even better day when they only charged me 13 bucks. happy, happy, happy

huge ballon festival (think around the world in eighty days balloon) going on for four days down in the village. took the bike down to watch about 40 ballons lift off for a leaf picking challenge, a marker find grab bag, and great times for some lucky folks that get free rides. big fair like atmosphere with music food and games, crafts, ect. One of those days where everyone knows yer name. felt good.

post! we love to read what you're up to! please remember to kick the janitor on your way out.

had cowboy coffee this morning, no alchohol margarita like substance PM and getting in the hot tub with iced tea...... rest now. logging tomorrow. ugh

Rainy slow day here. Went to donate blood while in town. They wouldn't let me do it because my blood pressure was way up.
It always goes up when I donate blood. Letting blood out gets it back down (not really but it sounds good).
I don't remember them ever taking my blood pressure before.
Back at home and my home meter says I am fine.
Dang, now its going to go up again.

That's the main reason why I always take my clothes off before turning on my computer. Nobody wants a picture of that.
