tore apart file cabinet for one key document search. found it in another room in between unrelated items of hubby. taking a break after errands, chores but before tackling the tractor. looks like a burglar ransacked the least expensive (junky)part of the house.

SCott - -- sorry about your second mom, but so neat she was in your life when you needed her. You will have wonderful memories of her - - neat how that works. Thinking of you at this time.
Finished prepping the drive for paint/sealer in the morning. Now it looks like that won't happen according to the weather man. Ran by the doc and let them look at the surgery from yesterday - - they all seem happy with what they see. I hate what I see, but I can't see it unless I use a second mirror. BUT, no way to hide it from everyone else. BOOOOO, now all the ladies will not love me. ............................................(note to self - - buy a big ugly large brim hat for working out in the sun - - I hate hats - - buy it anyway - - - don't want to - - - - don't argue with me or else? - - I will whip your you know what if you don't - - - I think I will do it your way - - what color? - - - who cares, go buy it - - OK, OK, you don't have to yell - - yes I do with you, ya big jerk.) Oh, sorry you had to hear that conversation - - we do that all the time. ............................
Snack time - - CYA.

Many years back when my kids were still in elementary, they had a volunteer guy who monitored the play ground. I got his license plate number and ran him just because.
Turned out he had several arrests and had done time in OR for being a pervert and still had a non-extradition warrant (basically a keep out of OR or else warrant).
I talked to the powers that be about getting rid of him.
Turns out the guy had showed up on the first day of school and everybody just assumed he had been approved by somebody else.
Yeah, I try to wear a straw cowboy hat when working in the sun but I don't like it. Plus every time I am running the cutter my hat will blow off and I can't stop the tractor quick enough.
Sorry to hear about you losing your deputy Mom.
It does seem like its been a really long time. Hope it ends soon.
Hey be nice. Tom Cruise is a hero. Some years back he received Scientology's Freedom Medal of Valor.
They don't just give that to anybody, you have to have lots of money.

scott, truly sorry for your loss. as Fiver pointed out, very good memories and help when you needed it. Keep calm and carry on.
went to Court, advised some folks on their tickets. one guy had to pick up his kid from football practice, waiting in Court for a littering ticket from the village cops. a littering ticket that was for a cigarette butt. Really? village cops getting a little big for their britches....felt bad, guy had to wait after my Small Claim and was still waiting as I left.....
hopefully judge will see things for what they are....

Thanks for the thoughts everyone. It means a lot!
It is Thursday, August 29th.
1828 - A patent was issued to Robert Turner for the self-regulating wagon brake.
1886 - In New York City, Chinese Ambassador Li Hung-chang's chef invented chop suey.
1944 - During the continuing celebration of the liberation of France from the *****, 15,000 American troops marched down the Champs Elysees in Paris.
1945 - U.S. General Douglas MacArthur left for Japan to officially accept the surrender of the Japanese.
1949 - At the University of Illinois, a nuclear device was used for the first time to treat cancer patients.
1962 - The lower level of the George Washington Bridge opened.
1965 - Gemini 5, carrying astronauts Gordon Cooper and Charles ("Pete") Conrad, splashed down in the Atlantic Ocean after eight days in space.
1983 - Two U.S. marines were killed in Lebanon by the militia group Amal when they fired mortar shells at the Beirut airport.
1983 - The anchor of the USS Monitor, from the U.S. Civil War, was retrieved by divers.
1990 - Iraqi President Saddam Hussein, in a television interview, declared that America could not defeat Iraq.
1991 - The Communist Party in the Soviet Union had its bank accounts frozen and activities were suspended because of the Party's role in the failed coup attempt against Mikhail Gorbachev.
1992 - The U.N. Security Council agreed to send troops to Somalia to guard the shipments of food.
1998 - Northwest Airlines pilots went on strike after their union rejected a last-minute company offer.
2004 - India test-launched a nuclear-capable missle able to carry a one-ton warhead. The weapon had a range of 1,560 miles.
Today's thought:
The history site I go to everyday recently started employing advertising, something they have never done up until this point. Maybe they got bought out by IB, I don't know, but some of the same advertising crap comes up in the lower left corner of the screen as a page loads. And guess what? The site has slowed WAY down in terms of load times with this new advertising. Imagine that!
C0ffee & ph00 are ready. And in keeping with the theme, it's 'slow-drip'!
T.O.B. & F. today!

well two dusty posts............
plans out the window per phone call this AM.
one little errand should have been a half hour total, back to home.
arrived six hours later, lots of people who wanted stuff done that rarely ask for anything. Of course, I normally wouldn't mind but today was dedicated.
I am sure folks appreciated stuff.....
I even bought NAIL POLISH (something I never have, along with a purse)
just for our favorite DTR history teacher chaikwaaaah. fixed up a fire badge
that had some enamel missing. skeered to tell him he cannot have the nail polish......(not his color- big apple red crème)
hope scottyfixedupandrolling has no further troubles...
hope Fivermissinghisyouthfulback gets a sunny day...
hope Barkthesalmondryingking gets his own island...

Scott, that sucks about your other mother. I have One of those too.
She was/is gentle caring and helpful. She knew things were twisted at home. I grew up with one of her sons. We are best of friends.
Your loss gave me time to reflect and I'm going to call her right now.
Made it Home! Got an early start tomorrow.
