Most take 10qts in pan and 1qt in the filter. Some guys report putting an even 12 qts in theirs with no problem, but I will stick to 11 qts as manual suggests.
Re:oil overfill

I noticed after the last change, done by the dealer by the way, that my dipstick read about a quart or more high.

Oil pressure guage seemed to be a bit higher as well, right after starting, went to normalish readings after warmed up more.

Don't know if it is overfill, or colder weather.

I guess the next time I get it changed, I'll make sure it is the right amount, then check the dipstick and maybe make a mark for the correct level.

I guess if it is overfilled and it damages anything, the dealer gets the bill since they are the ones that did it (on mine anyway).

phox

Re:oil overfill

I use 11 quarts on the money. It puts it mid way through the safe range.

11 quarts is what it's supposed to hold, but there's some variation in the dipstick readings.
If you used 11 with a filter change you're good to go.
If you used 12....it's a little high but nothing to worry about.

Since the -32 mornings, mine gauge shoots up to 70+ first thing then warms up and it goes back down to normal.
Danny
